My first fretwork bowl. Cutting process and final result

How long would you say this took you to cut? I made your "Love" sign but that was paper. Finally getting a scroll saw and nervous about time.

For bowls I spend about 2 hours of cutting, it depends on thickness and type of material and blades. For bowls I recommend plywood or hardwood 1/4 inch, blades - Flying Dutchman Ultra Reversed #1or 3.

Can you use an exotic wood instead of plywood so that the sides are more finished?

I cut all my bowls, compound and layered patterns to show my customers how finished projects will be look like. I use a lot of materials, that's why I use plywood and MDF, it is much cheaper

For bowls I use birch plywood 6mm (about 1/4 inch)

I wanted to try to cut bowl - I didnt like it, I enjoy making advanced fretwork animal projects. I spend not so much time in front of scrollsaw, usually 2 hours a day, 2-3 days in a week
