Earlier this week, I requested a ride through our Cruise app and took several back-to-back rides in San Francisco - with no one else in the vehicle! There are lots of other Cruise employees (not just me) who are testing and refining the full customer experience as we take another major step toward the first commercial AV ridehail product in a dense urban environment.
See the full ride here: • Back-to-back driverles...

But I bet you heard of Tesla. I'd say it's crazy what the share price driven biased media chooses to inform their readers of....repeatedly.... daily....and what they choose to hide. They can't buy stock in Cruise, so they don't cover Cruise. I guess one could get in on Cruise through Honda or GM stock, but that doesn't have quite the air of "easy money" as Tesla does.
@updlate4756
@updlate4756 2 жыл бұрын
@@cicirunner That's Ford's "Blue Cruise", which is more akin to Tesla's autopilot. GM has a similar system in Super Cruise; I think it's supposed to perform a bit better than Ford's system, but it's been around for 2-3 more years. THIS is a separate company called "Cruise". Yeah yeah... I know... I'd normally like the name... but it just doesn't work with so many other technologies using "Cruise" in their drivers assistance systems because of "cruise control". Maybe something like "Jump", "Transport", "Transfer" or "Carrier"...

@@shak7185 not anymore, self-driving is safer in almost every aspect compared to human driving. 10 years in it's likely that most drivers on the street will be out of job.

@shak7185 2 жыл бұрын
@@MinhPhan-sf9hk I agree that autonomous is already lot safer than humans BUT only in certain circumstances. Time will tell. I think there will be some drivers out of a job, but not most in 10 yrs since there will be limited routes that are autonomous friendly. In 20 yrs, maybe we’ll have some cars without steering wheels and we’ll be thinking about scenarios where a drivers license is not needed. Engineers always underestimate the time it takes to actually widely deploy automation, esp life threatening automation. The last 10% takes 90% of the time.
