I dunno. Personally, I've been playing for years and NEVER understood rocket jumping; to me it just looks inhuman. The right timing, the right direction, the right angle, all while already flying through the air; the amount of precision and reaction time involved puts anything you'd do as a Sniper to shame. I just don't get it and probably never will; I can jump ONCE onto a nearby rooftop or something but that's it. The jump maps don't help either; more than anything they just tick me off. If I want to do crap like that I'll just boot up Getting Over It. That's a pretty similarly frustrating experience.

The pan is a meme in the tf2 community where they would have a 100% chance to get a " " "RANDOM" " " Crit when in low health, go back to your spawn room, there is a resupply that gives back all of your health and ammo, has a slight cooldown of 3 seconds, I see a lot of new player not knowing this, its this locker with a health (+) and ammo symbol Esc > Advanced Settings (Gear with a (+) on it (bottom middle side) > Enable the "Fast Weapon Switch" 5:15 Crouch, then jump, you would go much higher, plus rocket jumping is hard to master, maybe a few months to years 5:19 Every time your team captures the briefcase, it gifts temporary critical hits (+200% Damage, 4 - 10% chance of getting, scale for more damage done) 5:28 That is a medium health pack (Halloween Texture), gives back 50% of your max hp, small health pack give 16% and Large full heals, (Same goes for ammo packs) 6:23 The game also tracks how good you've been playing 7:30 when you kill someone or someone dies, they drop a medium ammo pack 13:07 "H" means Healing and "Su" means Support

I see some people have already recommended the "good" settings, and I see some of them are also trying to pass their *preferences* as objectively better settings xD Honestly, as a beginner, there's absolutely no need for you to research what the "developer console" even is, to change all these variables in there. And there's no need to download custom HUDs or anything. They don't actually make anything better, people just like to think that their preferences are "correct" :D For example, if you ever feel like your character's weapon takes up too much space on your screen - enable minimal viewmodels from the advanced options menu. Also, about the field of view thing, you can just crank the slider for FOV - Field of View - all the way to the right (max value) in the options menu (normal options menu, not advanced options). But most importantly, don't worry about playing the game in a "correct" way, just have fun with it, it's an awesome game.

Here's some important infromation for playing tf2: 1. In TF2 there are three types of players frendlies, meners and tryhards -friendlies as the name suggests are players that are friendly to tge opposing team and sometimes cause the whole server to go friendly by doing taunts and etc. -Memers are just memers and there are alot of them and they do memes by doing wacky/cursed loadouts and etc. -Tryhards are the most disliked. Tryhards are people that just try their hardest to win but most of the time their really toxic and aggresive towards the others. 2. Their are things called hats, cosmetics, unusuals and warpaints. Hats are just... hats, cosmetics are different clothing for different classes, unusuals are cool efects to your hats, weapond and i think cosmetics too. 3. Random crits... oh boy they are hated by the community. 4. It's possible to trade your items if you have a premium account. 5 It's possible to change your pov in the console but i'm sure other people told you about it. 6. There are some community servers called,, Achievment Engineer" that are 2 commands which when you type them it will give you achievment items along with those achievment's 7. Even tho there are other weapons to the mercs that doesn't mean every obtainable item is better than stock items like how the stock scattergun is the best primary for scout. 8. I'n mann vs machines mann up mode at the end of the game everyone gets awesome (most of the time) loot like australium weapons (btw australium weapons are basically golden weapons). 9. TF2 recently has been suffering from a hacker bot crisis. 10. Rick May (The voice of soldier) died on 13 th April 2020 because of coronavirus.

Also theres a few handy little settings you should turn on like fast weapon switch and hit sounds, and making your fov the maximum so that you feel more comfortable in-game, but overall you actually did really well for your first game of tf2! And trust me, the more you play the more fun it gets learning all the cool deep mechanics that tf2 has!

Just a suggestion for dealing with spies: if anyone's just sort of acting weird or walking towards you in a weird way just shoot them a couple times. I think sometimes when I do it it doesn't make any noise to indicate that I've shot a disguised spy but I'm still not entirely sure about that, but since enemies can be seen on fire it makes Pyro essentially the natural predator of spies. Edit: I think to help with this you can go to advanced settings through "settings" (not the individual "advanced settings"), it's pretty much a tab in normal settings that lets you customize plenty of things. Two things I highly suggest are quick weapon switch and damage noise. With quick weapon switch you can switch weapons without having to press two times, so you can quickly switch between your weapons to deal faster damage in combat. Damage sounds allows you to hear a noise when you hit someone, like a ding or something, to ensure that you're not just firing at nothing. I think this might also help for spy-checking, too.

There's no friendly fire in this game, so, just spycheck everyone you see... Literally... Ammo is abundant, you lose nothing by spychecking your teammate (shooting your teammates). It's arguably one of this games biggest design flaws, it has a class that uses disguises as its main method of moving around the map, except, disguises don't actually work. :P

idk if you'll see this but heres some "simple" things you can do to make the game feel better: go into options, then in the graphics section there should be an fov slider, 90 fov is the best option. there is also advanced options which is the button on the side of the option button, there you can activate mini viewmodels which makes your screen less cluttered, and the option of an sfx playing everytime you deal damage or kill someone which helps you to recognize when you actually got someone

You have a lot to customize. 1) in the settings, you can change the method of choosing weapons to a faster one. (Single press 1/2/3.) 2) You need to change the field of view. I prefer the value 100, the favorite value of many is 90, the standard value is 75. 3) You would like to get training. It will not tell you even 0.1% of the information you need, but the 0.09%, that training will give you, is fundamental. 4) If you need help, I'm ready. 1400 hours is not much for this game, but enough for understanding and the ability to explain. Also, you may need some items, such as other types of weapons, for example. (Standard weapons are often considered the best, but there are exceptions to every rule.) DON'T DARE BUY THEM IN THE STORE. They cost significantly less than Valve is asking for. If you already have a Steam version for your phone, I can provide you with weapons. Just ask.

Some tips and tricks for TF2. ·Sentrys do beeps when active. Each level does a certain amount of beeps depending on it's level. Lv. 1 is one beep, Lv. 2 is two beeps, and Lv. 3 is three beeps. ·Spy's disguized as Scouts run slower. ·Crouch jumping will increase height when rocket jumping. ·As you play the game, you will receive weapon drops. If you have multiple duplicates, you can go to crafting and make scrap, reclaimed, and refined metal. ·With the Eureka Effect(an engi wrench), Engi can teleport to spawn and a teleporter exit without the need of the entrance, making for simple travel. ·Heavy has a wide variety of food items. These can be thrown when you right click. That way, team mates can pick it up and heal up, but be careful, for enemies can also pick them up, and each food item heals less than when heavy eats it.

The next time you play, adjust your settings. Stock setting is HECK for new players. Do stuff like enable fast weapon switch, change hit sounds, graphics, etc. Also, press " , " to change classes, "G" to Taunt at people, crouching when jumping helps a lot, especially while rocket jumping. For rocket jumping, I'd recommend that you go to a community map called Rocket Jump Academy Classic. We will watch you with great interest, mate. Do us a good one!

Dude, a new player on KZbin? Hell, yeah! I haven't played in years due to hardware limitations, but I still love watching vids on this game, and am incredibly happy to see new people coming in. I'm gonna be super happy if I can find a way to play, soon, but I'm gonna be rusty as hell. XD I'm pretty sure you can ask a lot of people in the comments and community about the nuances to certain features, like trimping, rocket/sticky jumping, sentry locations, spy checking, etc. Only played for 4 years, so I don't have tons of experience, but I'd love to be a part of it, if I can!

Honestly the amount of things i can give you advice on since youre brand new player is overwhelming, but its cool to see you have fun as new player. Just pay attention to settings at first, look at the comments related to those. The tricks, the tactics, loadouts, little details, there is just sooooo much stuff you are yet to learn if you decide to keep playing for longer. I can say for 1000 percent that its one of those games that by itself teaches you next to nothing, but if you put in work and make effort to gather knowledge and learn, its more rewarding and pays off more that almost all things in this cold world. The thing that comes to mind as advice, one of a thousand i could give you right know is : develop a healthy habit of turning around 180 degrees every couple seconds. Can save you from hell of a lot more backstabs, and since you wont be dead, you will be able to do more. I turn around every 1.5 second and its so instincual i dont even notice it anymore. As you can image i dont get backstabbed like, ever. Comment is long cause im excited for you. Deal with it.

Little things I wanna point out if you haven’t noticed: - The electric and glowy effect on the Rocket Launcher was a feature known as ‘Critical Hits’. You WANT to get Crits, for they deal more damage than normal. Whether they be full time Crits, or just Mini-Crits. Because your team captured the intelligence, you were rewarded Critical Hits - Later in the video you noticed their Scout was throwing milk at you. You do NOT want a Scout to cover you in that. You can tell if you’re covered by it when a milk drop appears next to your health. That milk weapon was Mad Milk. It gives the Scout and his teammates health back if they hit you while you’re covered. So basically, it’s a leech-type weapon. Also, the Mad Milk is a ‘debuff’. Debuffs are the negative effects that can happen to you. There’s: Jarate (from Sniper), Mad Milk (from Scout), Fire (mostly from Pyro), Bleeding (from Scout, Sniper, and Engineer), and Marked for Death (from Scout’s weapon the Fan O’War) - The sentry gun that was shooting at you before wasn’t an automatic sentry gun. Because it had the blue force field, it was a sentry under the effect of a Wrangler. A Wrangler is a weapon for Engineer that allows him to aim his sentry own his own, and not have it simply be automatic. You really wanna kill the Engineer first before destroying the sentry. When the Engineer dies, his sentry deactivates for a few seconds, giving you time to destroy it - I believe that Pyro may have had a Flare Gun? Idk, there’s 3 Flare Gun weapons. But, Flare Guns get guaranteed Critical Hits on burning players, so watch out for that. The other two Flare Guns (the Detonator and Scorch Shot) get guaranteed Mini-Crits - Don’t think so hard on why there was a bunch of Engineers. You were playing on 2Fort, it’s infamous for teams of just Engineers - Lastly, Spies can’t go through you like your teammates can, so that’s a huge giveaway. Also, I forgot if this is a Dead Ringer only, but Spies have a decloaking sound that plays when they become visible again. So listen closely and watch behind you if the enemy team has a Spy with them

Hey duck. If you wanna play MvM (Mann vs machine) it requires tour of duty tickets which are about a bucks each. You can play a free version called boot camp which is the exact same but it doesn’t give you any rewards. MvM is essentially a wave based mode where you fight robot versions of the mercenaries. If your wondering you can get rewards if you play. You can get robot parts which are used to make kill streak kits, you can get kill streak kits which if you apply to an item will let you get kill streaks (kill streaks are just for show and they announce to the server every time you get 5 kills (5, 10 ,15 etc)) or the legendary Australiums. Australiums are normal Tf2 weapons but they dipped in Australian (a rare resource only found in Australia and makes them strong) they are just for show but they are pretty cool. You have a chance at getting a golden pan, which is the same as a regular pan but it’s made of solid Australium and is worth 2-3 thousand dollars in real life (Not like what it would be worth, to buy the item it’s gonna cost you 2-3k) Welcome to the community!

Here’s some tips 1. Never stop moving 2. Shoot everyone to spy check 3. Never use the bison(a soldier weapon) 4. As engineer, the frontier justice is much more useful with the gunslinger 5. As pyro, use M2 to air blast incoming rockets, grenades, and sticky traps. It would also give you health when you use it to extinguish burning teammates. 6. Pyro is the most useful when spy checking. 7. As medic, only use Ubercharge when there’s a sentry, multiple teammates, or your health is down. 8. Your best friend is the medic. Protect him at all cost. 9. Don’t let sniper throw piss at you. 10. Never 1v1 a scout in an open area. 11. Obviously learn to aim 12. Press g in order to do a taunt with other players 13. Don’t kill hoovies(endangered species) 14. As heavy, you are the main target of snipers and spies. Be cautious. 15. As sniper, you are the main target of soldiers, scouts, and spies. Be cautious. 16. As medic, you are more of an important target than the guy you’re healing. Hide behind them at all cost. 17. Strategy and teamwork has always been an option in the game that many players choose to ignore. Just a reminder, this ain’t Overwatch. 18. You will get something called random critical hits. They can do a lot of damage. 19. The best way to get comfortable with demoman imo, is to sticky spam. 20. The best class to cap is definitely scout.

Some basics: 1)watch your back every time you feel safe. 2)to rocketjump you should crouch jump (by default it's Ctrl + Space) and shoot the rocket AFTER the crouch jump. 3) to rocketjump far you need to NEVER USE w key while flying (using w slows you down). 4) hitreg (hit registration) is terrible so sometimes you will get hit by the enemy that isn't looking at you or not hit the enemy while looking right at him. 5)trickstabbing (if you get to that level) is based on hitreg. 6)hitscan weapons (every weapon that shoots bullets) will 100% hit your target if you aim right at it. 7) every class is OP if you know how to play as it. 8)always respect your team's Medic in order to increase survivability. 9)predict enemy movement to hit them more often. 10)aim your rockets at the floor and walls but not the enemies (it's easier to dodge a rocket than dodge an explosion). 11) change default fov and viewmodel fov (default settings sucks).

''I don't know what I'm doing, all I know I'm having fun'' Wholesome words my man. Btw, here some tips for you: -Soldier is the easiest class to start with -Go to options and set the FOV to 90, which really makes your life easier -You can buy a Mann. Co Key (A yelllow key) to sell the key for 40+ refined metal (ref) (Ref and keys is like the economy of tf2) you can buy a cosmetic with only 3 ref or less! you can go to Backpack.tf to check the prices, or maybe buy a weapon for 0.11 ref! (this way is *way* more cheaper than buying it on the Tf2 store) -When your weapon starts shining, it's because your team captured the inteligence and you are rewarded with critical hits! (3x damage)

okay, so a brief rundown for all the classes: > the scout has 33% more speed that all the other classes, and have twice the capture rate for control pints. but, he have the lowest health pool in the game, so rely on your speed to outrun damage. > the soldier have the second largest health pool in the game, next to that of the heavy. the rockets have a lot of area damage, so you can worry less to hit a direct rocket to the enemies. > the pyro have a flamethrower, in which can spit flames and throw out compressed air. the compressed air can put fire out of team mates, granting the pyro +20 health, as well as reflect projectiles such as rockets and pipes back, so be careful when you are using demoman and soldier against pyros. > the demoman have a grenade launcher and a stickybomb launcher. the grenade launcher does a clean 100 damage on a direct hit, ignoring damage fall-off. aiming higher to the sky allows the grenade to be launched further. the stickbomb launcher on the other hand can stick to surfaces, allowing for explosive traps to be placed in corners or ceilings. >the heavy has the largest health pool in the game, topping at 300. he have a minigun that can be revved up without firing, allowing you to be ready for ambush. be careful though, he is the slowest class in the game, so you are most likely going to be the target of spies and damage. > the engineer can place 3 buildings: the sentry, the dispenser and the teleporters. the engineer have something called "metals". you need metal to built your buildings, and you can collect metals from ammo boxes. sentries needs 130 metal, the dispenser needs 100, and each teleporter needs 50. >the medic regenerates health passively, helping you to stay at the battlefield longer and assist your team mates. when healing people, you also build up something called "ubercharge." activate the care on full meter to make you and the person you are healing to be invunerable against all damage. > the sniper can scope in with his rifle and deals a critical hit upon headshots. you can charge your shots to deal more damage to the enemies. but, you can only charge your shots while scoping in to your rifles, which forces you to tunnel vision. scope out once in a while to check for your surroundings so spies cant backstab you. > the spy can go invisible, disguised as one of the enemy member, calls out to them as one of their own, and can kill every single class in one backstab. while invisible, you silhouette will be exposed when the enemy team bump into you. you can also be ignited when the flames of an enemy pyro hits you, and drenching in liquid (such as milk) will still apply to you, even when you are disguised, so be careful. you can also disable and destroy sentries and other engineer buildings with your sapper, but the engineer still can remove it. good luck :)

ok, you did pretty well in tf2 for your first time. As a veteran of tf2 heres 10 tips that can really help 1. you may want to occassionally check behiend you to check for spies 2. it's sad but you have to pay $5 on the steam store for tf2 to unlock all features like voice chat, a bigger inventory, trading, and more 3. if you wish to get better at rocket jumping there are YT videos to help a lot and you can create a server in the find a game menu to try rocket jumping 4. all of the classes work very differently (obviously) 5. at the end, h means healing, and su means support 6. as soldier, you need to try and predict where your rockets will go since the don't move really fast like a bullet (same with demoman*) 7. rocket jumping is one of the most enjoyable things in tf2 8. it's okay to retreat out of danger if you have the opportunity, rather live than wait 20 seconds to respawn 9. sentries don't instantly move, you can peek around a corner, fire a rocket, and get back behind the corner to hit a sentry while taking little to no damage 10. when you do get to trying spy, the back of the character hitbox, is not directly in the back, for example, if I run at a pyro and go to his right, it will take a bit of turning to get to his back, while going on his left will allow you to reach the backstab hitbox a lot faster. I hope these tips help not just you, but anybody else struggling with tf2

I actually spent about 7 years playing games on xbox before i started on pc games and it was really odd to play and was an extremely difficult process especially because i started playing xbox games really young and with very little sensitivity and it was only recently i started using higher sensitivity. Imagine how difficult that would've been transitioning from 7 years of muscle memory which has adjusted to taking 1 second to turn the other way to a game where you can turn fast enough to shoot some guy who just appeared behind you. After about 6 hours of this new experience i went back to xbox only to find it next to impossible to turn around in any good way. I would compare it to the turn of the Charge and Targe compared to the Tide Turner.
