Beta tests are to tell what is wrong with a game, so the devs can change it before release, or what is good so they can keep it. The lighting has to be perfect for every corner otherwise players will find blind spots and it will fuck up the game. people and even shroud first react seem to overestimate the smoke bullet opening so much, it doesn't work at all in the middle part of the smoke it only works at the sides but even then there's no more one way smoke where it's hard to see the guy in the smoke killing you. Once you fire a shot inside the smoke you'll be visible to everyone beyond the smoke. The only useful one is the grenade that decimates the smoke entirely i got more kills doing this more than doing that bullet opening smoke thing.

I think follow recoil is actually a really great tool, especially for new players, and it likely only feels weird because there's no precedent for it. It almost feels like an aim lab mode trying to keep the crosshair on target while it's following recoil. Edit: apparently there is a precedent, although only one, with the option being in CSGO already but not usable in a match. Point still stands that it probably feels weird due to a lack of exposure. If it's been locked to SV cheats, I highly doubt anyone has put enough time into it to determine whether it's useful or not in a match.

I love that the guns sound more like real guns somewhat and because everyone is so used to the fake sounds they think the real ones sound fake XD. The reloads are a ton better, before they sounded like airsoft guns which is what i assume they used to get the audio for.

I personally thinks that the follow recoil option is for the new generation of new CS players that have 0 experience in FPS in general. For anyone who knows what recoil and recoil control is, then yeah it is scuffed af. But for beginners it can help them to learn recoil patterns and spray control

I started at 1.3 and played til CSGO came out, tried CSGO and hated it so I went back to source til source started dying then quit altogether, the best CS was 1.5, after 1.6 and steam came out and valve started messing with the game every week the changes started ruining it for me

The commands that take 0 and 1 have always been boolean. You can set those with true/false in addition to 0/1 now, which works as well.

I get the ticks thing a bit, 64 is low and its also a bad choice because it doesnt fit nicely with any monitor refresh rates, nor any peripheral i/o refresh rates - 120, not 128, is probably best overall for everyone, hits both low end monitors and the standard usb mouse refresh rate squarely.

@@styleisaweapon that's the thing tho mouse refresh rates aren't a problem anymore as they use a "sub-tick" (I think that's what it's called) system which basically makes it possible for the server to know exactly when you move, shoot or jump and shots that would previously have been misses even tho you were on point will now be hits. Ticks don't matter anymore when it comes to hit detection or movement. Ping is a different story tho.

I saw you complaining about some of the stuff in the game, it's all good because the devs are likely keeping an eye on you. But do keep in mind that this is just the _early access beta_ and a lot of people are hoping to see more changes and improvements as well including myself like for eg. a better, actually working anti-cheat, that hopefully, bans cheaters mid-game like in Valorant.

They removed client side tickrate but the server still has a max "tickrate" anyways. I doubt Valve will host servers that will compute faster than something relative to 64 ticks
