I remember when I got my first used oak machines, I had to take them apart and clean them, but you learn, the two years later I got a carousel king, used to clean it when quick, and I just picked up a .05 cent north western and I'm going to change the color of it so not all my machines are red, but if you get use, that custom touch is all up to you or you can look to vintage colors that are rare.

For the gumball machines, do you have to screw them in to the ground to secure them? I'm curious, how does one prevent theft and someone deciding to just pick it up and walk away?
@harrypotter82623 жыл бұрын
I was wondering that too.
@fallenccyar47662 жыл бұрын
Buy a chain and attatch it to something that is secured to the ground or put it in a location where the establishment has a VISIBLE security camera. You could also make sure the place has a person working there within sight range of the machine. People are less likely to steal something if they know they’re being watched. They also might more likely to buy something when they’re not offended by the fact you “don’t trust them” which is made more clear by the metal chain. Making the last two (slightly) better options.

i’m only on the first minute of watching, but i don’t recommend nail salons! your machine will just basically waste away there because they don’t do well. maybe you will have a different experience but i made the mistake of putting many machine in nail salons when i started out, just because they are all very easy to place(the vietemesse ladies who own the stores are, always present and they never even ask for commission) but they only make a few bucks a month. do research and only go to places with a lot of foot traffic that also has a lot of kids. busy pizza shops do really well.
@letsjazzitup5 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, you've only placed 1 machine in a nail salon? I have 2 and in 2 different locations. I had to go back to the salon to fix 1 after only 1 day and I already had almost $3 in it. Many kids go to nail salons and many ppl are forced to wait in one. I think in my area, it's a good choice to place.

what was the location you got? i agree with the owners not being present, it’s happened a thousand times, most don’t have set schedules, come and go as they please... and the thing is, even leaving a business card, you’ll never get a call back... maybe 1 outta 100. gotta see them in person to have a chance.
@letsjazzitup5 жыл бұрын
Agreed! I do a totally think business cards are a waste! This was a nail salon.
@youtubin2225 жыл бұрын
LetsJazzItUp most of the times they are a waste but the good thing about a business card is, if the owner happens to be present, but wants to “think about it”(you’ll definitely run into this), it makes you look a lot more professional to be able to give them a card vs writing your info down. i have gotten a few looks from owners in the past when i mentioned that i didn’t have a card so at least i know that with one, they’ll take me more seriously.
@youtubin2225 жыл бұрын
i hope your nail salon does well. i just feel like the machine you got is too nice and expensive to go there when they usually don’t earn much, especially since you’re giving them 10% and are vending peanut m&m’s(not great profit margin). really, i feel like they are good locations for a beginner because they are easy to place there, so you can gain confidence, but definitely not long term keepers(unless you get lucky). places that have done better for me are pizza shops, laundromats, barber shops, oil change shops, kids indoor playgrounds(you definitely want to try those), ice cream shops, restaurants, sporting goods stores, etc
