Interesting instrument, I wonder who makes it for them? I don't like that style of crocodile clip either, the protective hood hardly ever holds in place and drops down to expose the clip anyway. Like you say, probably ideal for basic testing, white goods work etc.

I thinking UEI Instruments made this meter I heard somewhere that Fluke owns UEI Instruments. I must admit TP this test instrument isn’t shabby at all. If they would’ve added a count down timer ⏱ for PI / DAR Testing and a Remote Probe they would’ve conquered the market for the price they’re listed.

Great meter! I saw all videos you did with this meter. I was looking at this meter online and looked extremely interesting for the price. This perfect for spot checks, especially in hvac. Hvac guys rely on 60 mohm scale which is not a thorough test when checking for shorts. A humid day they will have a call back!! Love the reviews on the Klein. Great low budget meter that can go to battle. I agree on the count down timer!!! That may be an upgrade hopefully, and if so Klein will sell many meters. That fluke 1587 is a nice meter. I still have the original fluke tank the 1520!! Still kickin

The Fluke 1520 is a beast of a tester, the Fluke 1587 is a beautiful reliable a beast of a tester also. The Klein tester is a sniper a beast hiding in plain sight. For the price range Klein maybe the best tester out there, that’s just my opinion.

Thank you for the video. I just bought one of these to test my Schluter Ditra heat floor cable. Per the manufacturers instructions, when testing with a megohmmeter, I am to put 1000 volts into the wire. Maybe you can help me. I’m trying to wrap my head around putting 1000 V into that wire. That’s eight times the volts of household current, yet it doesn’t harm the wire? In the instructions say to press and hold the test button, but I’m not sure how long to hold. If I don’t hold long enough, I suppose I can’t complete the test. But how do I know when to release the button? Can holding it too long cause harm? If you would have time to reply, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you

Of course , it's not my number go to, but if I didn't have so many to choose from this tester could easily become my number one tester hands down, no doubt.

I bought it because it was the cheapest one I felt was safely built. You can buy cheaper ones for 25 bucks on EBAY but can you imagine using something super cheap that supplies 1000 volts? I'd be afraid of the lead failing and getting hurt.

This is from an Amazon review I read Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2020 Too early to tell or rate correctly What I disliked most is a brand new brand name item capable of generating 1000 volts came with a 1/8'' + loose ball of solder rattling around inside. I also disliked that I had to dismantle the brand new tester to get it out. Thank goodness I did , If I had powered this thing on , results could have been catastrophic I'm sure. The final thing I disliked is I could not ask a question of Amazon or Klein about this before I posted this rewiew. Thought you'd be interested
