My First Impressions of Ghana As An ‘AFRICAN’ American | BIG SURPRISE Meet Up!!!

**I decided to keep the same driver throughout my journey in Accra. It's both more efficient, safer and the best way to go. We agreed on a flat price and he has been with me the whole time. He is timely and very easy going. IF you are going to be in Accra and need a reliable driver. Here is his contact information.

LODGING
There are many great choices in Accra. For my first time, i decided to stay in:
Accra Luxury Apartment at The Signature. I booked on BOOKING.com It is a great place. They offer both studios, 1 BDR and much more. It's a great facility. It's located about 12 min (without traffic) from the downtown core. It's an area that facing a lot of construction but it's quiet and you get 24/7 security. The comfort level is equal to what you get in the US and Europe. For about $120 a night (depending on the season) It's 100% worth it. I would totally stay here again.

depending on where you are customer service is really up to the owners. I found the Germans and French very unpleasant whenever I've gone and their service to Americans sparse but I do not blame all of the people just the ones I encountered. Italy was the opposite I was treated like royalty at all of the places I stayed. Hopefully the customer reviews on sites that book will alert the owners that they need to train their workers better.

However- the customer service seems deplorable in which Africa as a whole has to work on. I do not comprehend why they will not allow you to film in the mall. And- the roads needs much improvement. Akwaaba to Ghana, Ivan. Sorry to say this but The Signature is just behind Accra Mall, which should have taken less than 30 minutes from the Airport (if the traffic is heavy), otherwise 10-15 minutes. Its true about the military and camouflage as i knew one guy who did get stripped by soldiers, and yes, down to his boxers

What a treat !!- Wode is the man who got me interested in visiting Africa!! I was researching Rwanda and came cross his tour of Kigali- Wow!! Like he said there are no views of Africa that he has taken us to that is being spotlighted in America. We have had enough of our culture being thrashed by people like Ivan, while they attempt to lay claim to it any chance they have. So Ivan is definitely not balanced.
