OMG ! ....What amazing food & the amount,just incredible .. 😱... Never heard of them, but I sure want to now ... I nearly died when you said there are 2 bigger ones 😂.. Quick report back: Today was my B/day & We went along to Soho Blacklock chophouse. Had the All in ..The 3 tasters each ,were just truly incredible,they play gsmes with your mind & tastebuds ..Main was superb & the meat juice bread simply divine..Had 4 sides & beef dripping chips folliwed by 2 different sorbets ( Choc & Raspberry )..I popped to the loo & when I came back they served it on a Happy birthday plate with a sparkling candle. Thank you so much for reccomending the place Greeno ,honestly one of the best birthdays meals that I have ever had in my life ..❤🙏 ..x

Greeno great video as always. If you rate this pub can I suggest you try the Soho Tavern ( there are several in the birmingham area). Suggest try the one in Hampton in Arden. The food and decor is amazing !!👍👍

These are huge everywhere by me in the West Midlands. Birmingham, West Bromwich and Walsall all have some great places! This is one of the more popular ones…my favourite is the Bradford Arms in Walsall, also know as “Champy’s” 👍

Well I never thought you would end up in West Brom I grew up about 5 mins from there and went to school opposite there which was knocked down after being empty for years, quite a few desi pubs round here the Soho Tavern ones are very popular and they have just opened one in Walsall a couple of months ago

Hey Greeno, when I saw the thumbnail, I knew where you were eating. Only been there once myself. I use 2 Desi Pubs in Wolverhampton regular, The Builders Arms, we have a tab for food & drink, then pay at the end. The other is The Firs, where the food is paid for as you order it. The drinks are paid for when you order them. Looking forward to your future adventures

That looked amazing! Great that there were lots of different flavours as sometime just different meats with the same rub or marinade on. I wonder if you have to pay upfront. Because they are so many tables it’s difficult to keep an eye on everything and at least you can leave when finished instead of waiting for the bill? Wish we had one near us! X

Fazenda - that's a Rodizio style place isn't it - I've been to a couple of those (not for the channel) and always enjoyed them - went to one in California that was out of this world! We will be doing a Christmas Market on the channel this year, a little closer to the big day, although it will probably be one a little closer to home.

I think they nailed the demographic. I would like that meal (feast?). I love how generous they are with the naan, which itself is good quality too. As a sharing meal, I would probably order rice and I noticed on the menu there were some special rice options with extra ingredients mixed in.

I nearly forgot to mention The Pot Still Coffee Shop, at Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, near Filey is another great place for breakfast or lunch while you are visiting Northern Climes. You could also get some Yorkshire Whiskey to take home! Nice drive and nice scenery too! Love and peace.

Desi pubs were all the rage back in 2000's until mids 2010's. Then there became so manynof them offering the same thing, they were no longer special. It still amazes me when new ones pop up, and you drive by a week later and they're empty. They only survive on takeaways now. The very first desi pub offering food was in Wolverhampton. A guy uses to bring his own food in and the drinks were like what you got there. And he used to do chicken wings babecued in Panjabi masalas. Then he started giving them to other people for free. Then people started coming into the pub asking for indian style wings, that's when it all started. It's called the crown on cartwright street in wolverhampton. Now it's just a terrible run pub that hardly anyone goes to.

Being born and raised in the west midlands, a mixed grill is definitely part of my social outings. Nothing better than a mixy with friends or family. Normally a once a month thing as a minimum 😊 spoilt for choice with the amount of mixed grill pubs there are here too

​@@GreenoEats Yeah definitely a sharing experience more than a meal for one and sides are a must to give yourself variety 😊 Theres too many too name, some of the ones you can never go wrong with are Vine, west brom. Bradford arms (champys) in walsall, any of the soho ones (soho tavern, soho oak etc) and builders arms in wolverhampton. Also the fish pakora is more of a fritter batter rather than a fish and chip one so doesnt get overly crsipy plus the steam from sizzler plate doesnt help, and think the chutney you tried was a tamarind chutney we called imli rather than mango (our idea of almost a sweet and sour sauce) My dream is to open a place like this down south somewhere in devon or cornwall as i think it would be a huge talking point

I love them, go to the Prince of Wales in Southall quite regularly, also the Tamil Prince and the Tamil Crown are excellent but with punchier pricing (the Sunday Roast at the Crown is a must !) Your place looks excellent, I'll give it a go next time I'm up near Birmingham.

Thank you Greeno, my Mother-in-Law would say, do I eat it or climb it?? Looked lovely though. I would NEVER pay up front for food I have not even tried let alone eaten. A good restaurant would not ask for payment up front and as for paying for the drink separately, well. This is more the sort of place I would get a takeaway. 👍👍🤗🤗

Hi Greeno! I don't think an Indian pub is something I have seen here in Sydney. With paying up-front, I wonder if they have had problems with people doing a runner on the bill?... Or if it's for other reasons. Wow! That was a heck of a plate of food! Sharing that between two people would make it incredibly good value. It all looked very tasty. Glad you enjoyed it. I can’t stand people who do a runner from restaurants, just awful behaviour. This platter could easily feed 2, maybe even 3 with a couple of extra sides!

@GreenoEats Yeah, it's real scumbag behaviour. I remember there being a couple of fine dining restaurants in Sydney in the last few months, that needed to switch to upfront payments for that reason. I like how you made little kebabs with the food, using the naan. I'd do it that way myself too. As you said, not everything on the plate was fantastic, but such good value for money. Always go to Desi pubs when watching away games in the Midlands they are fantastic on the whole. As an aside always amuses me that when southern based food reviewers eat something they like they shake their head side to side whereas northerners nod their heads up and down! I'm a northerner so at first when I saw you and Gary shaking your heads I thought you were about to say the food was crap!!

Food looked really good here. I wonder if they are asking you to pay before the food arrives is a consequence of them suffering for a lot of people running off before paying in the past. Just a thought. Places like Nando's etc make you pay before you get the food so it isn't isolated.
