i guess your Indian friend doesn't know why the prizes are different for foreigners, its because india has mainly a low to middle-class population and if the entry prizes are high, the incoming people will be low, but they have to maintain those big palaces thats why they charge more from the foreigners. they is no such emotion as same people or different people.

Please visit diff parts also like west india, east india, north india and north east india... All are different and you will have new experience each time. In south indian temples, there is a different smell which you won't get in any other parts of India, so when I asked them, they say that is the smell of mixture of oil haldi sindur.
