My first K1 Speed GP Challenge! Wilmington, MA | December 2021

In this video I take you along for the ride in my first ever K1 speed Challenge GP. In fact, this was the first actual semi-competitive race I've ever done, period. This one was the December 2021 race in Wilmington MA.
Although on paper I finished 9th out of 10th in the final race, there were still many positives from the night. I set two of my fastest times ever (21.282 and then 21.250), and with those times I managed to qualify 6th out of 19 people.
Because the group was so big, I raced with the top 10 racers. As you can see from the footage, I made a few mistakes, and also got unlucky with some contact pushing me out of position. I guess that's part of the game! In any case, I felt very comfortable racing, and know that with more experience I'll finish stronger each race.

These events are fun. We had 36 drivers at our last GP. We had 3 group finals. I won group 3. Qualified 4th and ran down the leader. Best I've done was 4th in Group 1. Qualified 8th in that one and worked up.

12 per group is a lot, but I’m sure it means there’s quite a bit of talent where you race. Keep shooting for P1!
