@Jon since when is one's mastery of a skill evaluated based on an environment in which they don't even apply said skill? F1 drivers push the limits of their car and the track. Jarno does the exact same thing in eSports. He is no less masterful because his environment is different from the real world counterpart. you sound butthurt because you play by some unwritten rules that don't apply to this game.

Your racing line and looking ahead). Avoid becoming fixated on your wheel or right in ft. Looking ahead towards entering (apex) and exiting (vehicle placement) while keeping your inputs smooth and not upsetting the car (thanks S. Mansell). Watch Opmeer his eye movement and head (slight tilt) eyes scanning. Ultimate concentration avoiding peripheral distractions and a squeaky brake pedal (jk). Some might say about the brake pedal no big deal but any distraction could lose you vital time. Watch all of the great sim drivers like I do and learn from them. Drivers like Opmeer, Huis, Rasmussen, Moreno, Hoyer. All put in hours. I only know what I know by studying the latter, hours in rig, and asking questions just like you:) Congrats Jarno and Mercedes esports! -RANGER0NE

Hungary is perfect for that. Really good mix of both slow and fast corners, and the two semi-circles at the end of the lap are perfect for learning limitations of downforce and pace through a corner.

So I curiously searched up how much 200 decibels is...: 150 decibels is usually considered enough to burst your eardrums, but the threshold for death is usually pegged at around 185-200 dB. A passenger car driving by at 25 feet is about 60 dB, being next to a jackhammer or lawn mower is around 100 dB, a nearby chainsaw is 120 dB. RIP Jarno💀

Why do you use such high gears in the low speed corners (t1, t8, t10)? Does it give you an advantage over going down into 2nd and 1st (which is what I and many others do)? Also great win

I know what you mean haha, but I think this is what contributed to the pace, lower gears have more engine braking and cornering can often be off the throttle so I think 3rd/4th not only provide more traction getting on the gas but it carries momentum through the corner much more

You can use any gear it just sucks lol. It’s better to stay in higher gears than normal on this game. Downshifting is not really so much for engine breaking but taking the load off the car. Higher rpm= equals lighter motor=looser more responsive. That’s why you always see a lot of people down shift but then short shift after they hit the apex.
