Aw that custom is so cute :D My tip for the paint: around 2 - 3 drops of water for a spoonfulish size of paint is good, it's just to make it a little smoother, but the paint shouldn't look somewhat see through with water :)

It’s great for a first custom! One thing I’d recommend is getting some fine point brushes for smaller details! Having a lot of different sized brushes will be incredibly helpful as it also means you can get practice with more intricate details! I’ve been customising for about a year now, another thing I’ve found to be useful is making a plan for your design before customising! I also recommend you dry brush your white base rather than just painting, it’ll help your initial coat of paint be a lot smoother!!

Thank you! Yeah, usually, I’d have a plan. And I should get some smaller paintbrushes. I have a few different sizes already, but I think I need some that are even smaller, because the smallest ones I have right now aren’t really small enough. 😅😊💜

Oh, thank you for the tip about dry brushing the white base. I assumed I was supposed to put it on like normal paint. 😊

The Earth Chihuahua is so cute!!! You've done great for your first time and I am excited to see what customs you'll make in the future! I noticed that when you were painting there were some large globs of paint on your brush that was probably making it difficult to paint really smoothly or do the details on the eyes. Something you could do to stop this from happening is to get a little bit of paper and put it next to you when you paint to while the excess paint off your brush and so you can make sure you have the right amount for what your doing. I'm not really an LPS customiser but I do paint with watercolours and sometimes acrylics so this seems to work for me XD

Thank you! Yeah, there were a lot of times when there was too much water or paint on the brush, and sometimes I would notice it and wipe it off on the cup with the water and paintbrushes before applying it. But having a paper towel next to me would help, too.

The design idea is so cute and I think you did a great job at the clouds! I noticed that your brush was very wet at times which can make painting details very difficult. You could keep a little paper towel by your side and dip the brush onto it when you notice that its too wet. Also using smaller brushes will make it easier to paint smaller details. For eyes, you can sketch on them first with colored pencils like watercolor pencils and fill them in with paint afterwards. Thanks for making this video! It was very interesting to see your process. Did you use acrylic paint?

When i already made a few costumes that aren't fineshed yet and i don't have dificulties in painting the fist coat of paint but. I have a dificulties in painting the eyes. I think you will get better if you keep making costumes.
