My first metal gig was Rainbow at Festival Hall, Melbourne in 1978 when I was 13 years old. I first saw Maiden in 82 on their Beast On The Road Tour.

My first metal show was also Maiden and I was never the same! The '85 World Slavery Tour with opening act WASP. They rolled into Biloxi Mississippi and blew my lil prepubescent mind! We lived about an hour away in Hattiesburg MS, so my friends and I all arranged to "sleep over at Scotty's house" that night, or some such nonsense, and we snuck down to see the show with the help of my buddy's older sister who had her own car. It was a magical night, and unbelievablely our parents were none the wiser. I still remember wearing my concert shirt under my regular clothes when I left for school that following Monday and then proudly strutting into the halls of my middle school as the absolute coolest dude alive... and for that day I was! Lol 🤘

My first metal show was in 2009, I was 12 years old and I went to see Iron Maiden with my dad here in Chile, alongside 60.000 people. It still is, to this day, maybe the best show I've ever been to.

Saw Maiden when I was in high school, about 6 years ago, on the Book of Souls tour. I missed one day of school that year and it was for that show because the show was out of state. Came back to school the next day and my Spanish teacher was like "this kid is going to end up working at a gas station forever." I'll never let that down because, I think it's the funniest shit. I don't remember much of the show to be honest. Maiden was my favorite band around that time but, I was also leaving Judas Priest and Iron Maiden in the dust for bands like Suicidal Tendencies, DRI, and SOD. My only real memories of the show now are "yeah raven age kinda sucks" and "woah it's Iron Maiden and there's Eddie." I guess I was just on to the next heavy thing but, I still wear my Caught Somewhere In Time backpatch with pride. Something about being 14 and getting lost in that artwork and lost in the magnificent epics on that album like The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner and Stranger in a Strange Land. It was definitely somewhere fun in my timeline .

I remember going to the Maiden England Tour in 2012 as a belated 20th birthday present. Imagine how severely disappointed I was that I didn't get to see Alice Cooper for the opener (instead, it was Coheed and Cambria (I really tried to give them a chance, but I was not amused)). I finally did get the chance to see Alice Cooper back in October 2021 - nine years late, but it was about time. As for Maiden, it was my second time out of three seeing them live (the first was in 2010, and the third was in 2019). Up the fucking Irons!!!! Anyway, my first metal show was the 2009 Mayhem Festival - a few days after I turned 17 - when I got the chance to see The Black Dahlia Murder, Job for a Cowboy, Cannibal Corpse, Killswitch Engage, Slayer, and Marilyn Manson (I was into Killswitch and Manson at the time, but not much anymore). It was a real blast!

Thats a badass first show, congrats. I remember that one fondly, sadly Obituary didn't make it to ATL when i saw them and instead they were replaced with Testament, which im not complaining but would have been cool to see Obituary. RIP to those who have not/will never experience a Slayer show tho.

I saw the 7th Tour in 88 @ Joe Louis in Detroit. My 1st Maiden show was Powerslave. Also at JLA. 1st Metal Show was Priest (Defenders)/Great White (Stick It) @ Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, 1985.

Dude I'd love to see Maiden some day! And Alice Cooper too, my friends say his shows are ungodly. My first ever metal show was in some club when I was 15, never left the underground afterwards. Sure, I love big bands, but I love smaller venues where you can actually interaxt with the band and discover bands no one has heard of before. First ever metal concert was Schizo, Heretical, Novembre, Sinoath, Balatonizer and Memories of A Lost Soul. All of them are great bands and you should check them out if you haven't! Schizo was amazing, in the 80s they were huge friends with bands by the likes of Nihilist, Sepultura, Death...

At the age of 22 my first show was Devildriver in 2017, still my favorite band today (unpopular opinion these days sadly but i couldn't give a shit) and really opened my mind to how insane and fun shows can be. Mine was Toxic Holocaust at this small bar venue downtown, met Joel Grind before the show and he was super cool to me, then they started playing and I’d never seen or experienced anything that fucking crazy and loud in my life. When they played nuke the cross the pit looked like a human hurricane, it was a day before my birthday and one of the best nights of my life. I was 17

My first show was an extreme metal show. Swedish death metal and black metal only, the biggest band that night was Rotting Christ and the room was packed full once it was their time to play. After they were done everyone chanted to play one more and they came back out and played two more songs. Awesome. I even bought an Abruptum - orchestra of dark CD at the show.

My first ever big metal concert was only last April! Judas Priest with Queensryche, SUPER loud that I wasn't prepared for. (Didn't have earplugs) Rob had been recovering from a cold and still kicked ass, and killed every song! Now, Priest is in my top 3 bands of all time! *Please do some more of these storytime videos! My god, what an awesome first metal show!! I linda told my first metal show a couple months ago in a coment, but I'll tell again because it was one of the coolest experiences I ever had. I went to see Torture Squad with the opening made by the band The Monic, the place was a rock bar, I arrived with my sister and my gf almost 1 hour before the show, the opening band went over the stage, the start of a radio show started playing(it was being transmited throught the radio) the first band played an awesome setlist(wich I got a copy that was on the floor of the stage after the end of the whole show), and then after a couple of minutes the lights chances, the videoclip for the first song started playing on a couple of screens near the stage, and than boom the band started playing really loud and the videoclip faded, and after a mix of songs from the new album, a song that was first played in English, than was played in spanish, and after the show ended, there was a big group photo with the crowd in front of the stage and the band in the back, after that I waited a little and took a photo with the guitarist of Torture Squad, it was really the best experience I had until now, the day after when I took a shower and went to use the cuetip on my ears I noticed a little blood, so I advice on wearing earplugs too. Grind on! \m/

Hearing how people got into metal is always fun. It takes me back to when I was younger and experienced the same thing. I think my first proper metal-show was either Metallica in 2007 or Iron Maiden in 2006. I'd been to rock-shows before that, like TNT in 2005 or so, but those where my first metal-shows. I actually took my little brother to see Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper in 2011, which where his first shows, when he was only 10. Probably one of my proudest moments as a big brother. 🤘😄

My first metal show (but not my first concert) was Gigantour 2013 with Megadeth as the headliner, along with Black Label Society, Hellyeah, and Device (David Draiman’s side project at the time). It would be a show that would only cement my love for metal. I was 17 while by boyfriend now husband was 21. We got to meet Vinne Paul, Tom Maxwell, David Draiman, and Will Hunt. It was one of the best days of our lives and certainly something i will never forget!! Stay metal my friends!! :)

My first metal show was also Maiden in Toronto at the Molson Amphitheatre with Dream Theater opening back in 2010. I was 14 years old and I was obsessed with Panic Attack at the time. There's a still a video of me singing that song while DT played it. Plus, it was the only time I saw DT with Mike Portnoy on drums. Oh, and Maiden? They were incredible! No More Lies and Fear of the Dark instantly became my favourite Maiden songs thanks to that show.

I think the first concert I went to was American Headcharge, or Powerman 5000, 2012 or 2013. It was right next to eachother, so I forget. HED PE was one of their openers. I've been to damn near 100 shows and seen 100 bands since then so I can't remember much now. It's all a blur.

My first concert was The Monkees, but my first metal concert was also Iron Maiden. It was the Phoenix date of the Somewhere Back In Time tour in 2008 and I think Randy Johnson aka "Big Unit" was in the pit with us too! The stage props were impressive and memorable, in particular the massive Powerslave Eddie that emerged and stretched out over the band!

My first metal show was Megadeth, at that time I had never heard a single song from them, and even if I did I probably forgot or I didn't know it was them. The openers were Meshuggah and Tesseract. I remember songs like: Skin On My Teeth, Sweating Bullets, and Peace Sells plus when they played Peace Sells they had Vic Rattlehead (their mascot) come on stage. All in all a great and memorable first concert. I can't wait to see them at Rocklahoma in a couple days!

I never been to a metal show. most bands don't come to my country mainly because metal isn't really that popular here (if they do it's always sold out or they did like 10 years ago) and also I'm kind of young so I wasn't alive or too young to see my favourite bands before they stopped making music or died. I am also an introvert so I stay inside most of the time. I've been to one very small concert in a small venue but it wasn't metal. I dont know if I would ever see a metal show ever at least in my country anytime soon. maybe in a few years if I even get the courage to leave my house lol
