I’m so excited for you. I am starting my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in the US and your videos have been giving me so much peace of mind. It’s all very exciting and nerve racking but again, your videos bring me so much peace ! So happy for you!

This is such a great video. I would love to see more on psychological theories and models and how they are translated into practise. I am waiting to start my CAAP masters in Feb and have the knowledge of theories etc but it would be interesting to see how they are used in everyday clinical work!

hey, congratulations for enrolling onto the masters! If you don't mind me asking, how much work experience did you have, as I would love to do that too, in the future maybe after graduation

@@tasm8556 Hey, thanks so much! I actually got on a lot quicker than I thought I would. I have done voluntary work for a suicide prevention charity, befriending and as a mentor for vulnerable children. I also work as a support worker. For reference I graduated in June and got accepted in December. Hope this helps!

@@alexandraharvey8629 your welcome.. that sounds great! Did you do your support worker role, after graduation? As I am planning to do that.. and yet again Congratulations!

@@tasm8556 yes! I started in May but I would say if you can manage to start while at university then even better. I would have started earlier if it wasn’t for COVID!

I'am definitely for hugs in session! Why is it seen as.. inappropriate? Oversexualisation or.. where are we going?
@melissagimson19103 жыл бұрын
It's a question of maintaining professional boundaries. It can be really dangerous for clients to start seeing their psychologists as friends or to get over attached to a professional, whether sexually, romantically or platonically.

@@melissagimson1910 it’s funny because In a physical healthcare setting nurses and doctors and staff always share they are hugging patients and relating to them differently..
@melissagimson19103 жыл бұрын
@@lolarose5331 interesting to hear that has been your experience. Ive worked in a physical health care setting briefly but only as a support worker for children with disabilities and the safeguarding there was as strict if not more so. Perhaps we are in different countries and following different guidelines. All the best.

@@melissagimson1910 That's the theory, I know, but the explanation or.. is there any sound one? doesn't speak to me. It is rather an ethical code imposing boundaries that are private, not professional. With the client's consent ofc!
