MY FIRST OVERLOCKER - Elna 264d! Unboxing and the first try as a beginner!

I just purchased the Elna 264 today and I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I enjoyed your video and it has given me hope. ;) I am going to read the manual first and start practicing on it. I have been using a regular sewing machine for years and finally got the courage to purchase a serger. Thank you!

I'm sure you'll have a great time with your new machine :) I LOVE mine and now I enjoy sewing even more although I'm still pretty clueless, but I believe the machine is pretty beginner friendly as I've had no problem with it :) good luck and have fun!

I'm interested in buying an overlocker but haven't done much research on them yet. Is there anything specific you looked out for when buying one? How much scouting about did you do before you purchased the one you now have?

I wanted a 4-thread overlocker so I started there. I had my budget set and it came down to only few options as overlockers are pretty pricey anyway. Then I've read about which one has the best parts so it would be the most trouble - free. Also I wanted something pretty "forgiving" as it's my first overlocker and I have no idea what I'm doing :) the one I picked has its disadvantages too, but for now I'm super pleased with it :)

Honestly I love it! Threading is not the worst, I finally figured out how to pull the new threads through so I don't thread it from scratch that often :) but even when I do it's totally doable. And I haven't had any issues with the machine, I honestly love love love it
