Started park run a year ago, only managed 20 to date. Sometimes incorporate it in my long run, sometimes use it for my speed session (with carbons)… love it.

Well done on your first parkrun, great event, all free and run by volunteers. Solihull is a nice one,so many local ones to choose from for a bit of tourist fun,you should give Warwick a try (got my Warwick half number in the post today 🥰) the Haley part of raleyadventures is doing her 💯 at Stratford tomorrow!

Cannon Hill is another large one. Edgbaston reservoir is fast and less crowded. My favourite thought is Babbs Mill check them all out though throughout Brum area all very friendly!

Brueton does tend to get crowded. Babbs Mill and Oaklands are quieter and decent ones. Walsall and Stratford are probably the fastest localish ones.

Come over to Babbs Mill parkrun one week 😊 they only have around 100 attend. We are lucky in the midlands we have a lot locally to choose from, it’s a great community love parkrun

Considering how nippy you are as a runner, I would suggest starting about three metres from the front of the start line so you take off in the top 50 and then you can get to pace quick and enjoy runners on your level . . . prepare yourself as getting the Parkrun text/email alert is very addictive and you will start doing every week and then start tourism so you set new PB's all over the place

Trust me I went to the heaton park run and I saw a number of people wear carbon plate trainers, there's no real etiquette with park runs I just run like mad past people cos they do the same with you they don't care lol ....Great video

I small a ‘spoof’ sized rat here. Over 1,400 subscribers, endless running videos, 10 years of running, yet can’t search youtube for parkrun videos (there are thousands!) to explain how parkrun works. Very difficult to believe. Also - it is Brueton parkrun, not Solihull parkrun. Runs sub-20 minutes then says “quite chuffed, I don’t know what it means”. You don’t know what a 5k time is? #fakenews
