I played for the first time like 4 years ago and got both Neutral and Pacifist endings without the need of watching playthroughs or anything like that. Also, without killing a single monster. @penntopaper9305 on one hand yeah, on the other the game does a lot of interesting things to someone who doesn't pay attention in the beginning. very fun experience either way, but the runs where the person hasn't been spoiled are a lot more... interesting. the reactions at the very least are a lot more powerful, especially when they get to the true end. pointcrow's is an excellent example, alongside fleecade's, and this one is shaping up to be interesting as well

in my opinion this is the best way of playing undertale. no backseating, no spoilers. many people actually stopped playing it because the chat would just spoil or say that they are doing the wrong decisions, while the whole game is about YOUR choices. you don't need to restart if you don't want to, you can just do that after you finish the game by the first time

I would actually recommend not reading any comments and instead playing through the game again making different choices! I‘m sure you’ll cook something up! This game still has a lot to offer. The real challenge is not the bullets but the choices that you make! You might also wanna still pay attention to the dialogue since the dialogue is what changes the most throughout separate playthroughs! And since you now have played through the entire game you’ll have some new context for some things you saw earlier in the game. And you can check out some things you missed. For now I would still not read any other comment and consider every other comment a potential spoiler! Though you should know that save points are checkpoints so save at every save point you see, will ya?! Since they also heal you to max HP. Also you can get more money from running around trying to encounter more monsters and proceeding to kill or spare them without running away beforehand. See you later, Kang.

The Nintendo DS is a 32-bit system. So no, Pokemon Black/White is not an "8-bit" game. Even the GBA is 32-bit. For an 8-bit handheld you have to go back to the original Gameboy and Gameboy Color.

i don't understand why folks get so weird when people politely suggest he restart swiftly and play pacifist. There's literally like another 2 hours of content as well as heavy story beats with a great conclusion to the overall story he will completely miss (and can only access if he completely restarts from the beginning). Nobody is gonna spend the time playing through the game twice for that, so I don't see why encouraging him to have the best experience the first time is bad. Especially when the trailer for the game literally says "nobody has to die", it's not back-seating or spoiling anything.

That's how I played the game too, then I chose to go back and do pacifist and I liked and appreciated the game even more because of it's replay ability and hidden things.

Not a demand, but I highly recommend that if you're invested in the characters, that you play a Neutral Route first (A bit of mercy and a bit of killing), then a True Pacifist Route (Spare EVERY character and become friends with all of the main characters) as it shows how the characters treat you when they're friends with you, and finally, the Genocide Route (Kill ALL of the characters) as it has a higher difficulty to give you a good challenge and it shows the bonds between the characters from an outside perspective, highlighted in the face of a common enemy (You). All great routes and there's really no wrong way to play, but this order is recommended for the full UNDERTALE experience. Additionally, there are different endings to the Neutral Route, depending on who you kill. I felt I should mention that in case you see it as something worth checking out.
