totally agree. i stumbled across your beginner vids when they first came out as well, amazing the progress. some sort of YT algorithm with chico/MTB made me find them. I originally started my brief (about 3 years) MB racing journey in Chico.

I saw your name in the results, I was waiting for this video. You did great! I always try to throw some kind of bar turn or style in on air just to remind myself to keep loose. Heals down on flats, it's the law! 😄 The real tech part of riding Whistler is finding lines to avoid the braking bumps!

That was great! Threading the tree section would've been the end of me (I'd probably take 10 minutes just to hike down).😅 I shot some pictures a loooooong time ago on a crazy trail Cometti built all by himself out here in San Diego. He was a little bad ass back then - Super nice kid. Anyway, good job, and well done.

Hey April. Great video thanks. I was back at Whistler in early July BEFORE Crankworks this time, on purpose. It was very rough then, breaking bumps like giant potholes! A bit unsettling. Still though...Whistler is so much fun. I've subscribed to your channel. Actually did not know until now that you and Kyle split up. The only real constant in life is change, as they say. True enough. I wish you the best in all of your endeavors. Peace.

What is the reason for the whistle being blown ?
@AprilRideMTB2 ай бұрын
It’s to signal that a racer is coming through. I think it helps them keep track in each split in case someone wrecks and a plus is spectators can be ready. I haven’t really researched it for the proper reason though.

Its interesting how we humans handle pressure, some people do better on the practice runs then lose time on the final, due to anxiety, pressure, but then others, like you it seems, are vice versa, whether you realize or not. Im the same, but it took some time to recognize it, but I still cant explain it. Something kicks in when its crunch time, the pressure is maxxed out and its go time, and while we wont get close to legends like Jill (the clipless video was great), we do get personal bests. Im just guessing on that being a personal best for you but you were surely cruising fast through there, faster than your earlier shown runs and I imagine faster than you thought you should be going (as our Whistler tends to make us think until we case every jump), you missed all the big ruts, you barely cased any jumps and you made it through the chunder bits fairly smoothly. That was a nice run! Well done. Anyway, thanks for sharing and thanks to you and Kyle for all the very helpful tutorials, and to you for being brave enough to post your journey showing everything as it was fresh and new to you. Its helped so many people who maybe didn't think they could do it, but then saw you!
