My first program on the xyz Proturn 1440 ELX cnc lathe

Here’s a look at my first ever program on xyz Proturn 1440 ELX,
I have never used any kind of cnc lathe before so a bit of a learning curve for me but really enjoyed it

Daniel Wood Thanks, they are nice machines, ok for small parts that don’t require many drilling ops, and tool changes but that’s why I’ve just bought the Hyundai QT-15n, still wouldn’t get rid of the xyz unless it was for another but the slx version

Hey you need to subscribe to a guy on tube called edge precision - he is a master CNC machinist, manual master machinist and a very good blacksmith - he is really keen to help up and comers and people learning cnc running the business - really good guy.

Good video. I’ve got a 1999 XYZ 350. Have you thought about making a tool block so you don’t need to do the tool changes? Mount a few different tools in a bespoke tool post. I’ve done it but I really want to upgrade my controller now. Take it easy 👍 Jack

Hi Glad you enjoyed the video, unfortunately i had to sell this lathe to help pay for my other full cnc lathe so i no longer have it, If money ever allows i would love a newer bigger prototrak but that wont happen anytime soon Thanks Marc
