PRS is an incredible guitar and it took me a long time but I bought mine a year ago and it became my main guitar. I've had Gibson Les Paul Custom, Ibanez Jem7v and also have Jackson PC3 along with a variety of other guitars. The PRS just has the right sound, feel, playability and the quality is top notch. When I bought it I never thought that it would be the primary guitar. Every guitar has differences but through the years playing style changes and the PRS at this point just fits in every aspect.

Took you long enough but glad you have joined the PRS owners club at last. I love my Cu24 - although mine is the Core version. Obviously that means a much thicker Maple cap with a much deeper carve. It also has the Mahogany set neck too so you get a different tone from a CE. The Bridge too is different on a CE as its moulded rather than milled from a 'block' like the core models - that does make the CE's brighter with more snap. I do like the 85/15's too - have great clarity and well balanced - at least on my Core. I do like a PU that is well balanced as that gives you a lot of scope for tweaking to your preference. Rich is certainly a way I would describe them too. I expect my guitar is a lot warmer in general whilst your CE will be brighter and more snappy - similar to the differences a LP and Strat offer with similar differences in the construction...

I understand the color thing. I owned a '99 McCarty Hollowbody ll in bright cherry sunburst. Loved the guitar, but hated the color. I ended up selling it for an '08 McCarty ll in vintage 2 color sunburst. The store swapped out the stock pickups for 57/08s (at no cost) and added a tone pot (something the guitar didn't originally come with).

I had on 03 prs santana se which played and sounded great, but it wasn't meant to be. there was a bind at the nut right when I bought and every bend sent the g string out of tune, brought to the store I got it from and they " fixed" it for free, when I got it back not only was it still going out of tune but the low e sounded completely dead and dull, threw new strings on it and it still had the dull sound. I wanted very much to keep it, but I played an EVH Wolfgang standard and I just fell in love with it, so I did a swap, the evh was way more my type of guitar having a floyd and 6105 jumbo frets. prs makes great stuff though. every other se. I've played was great I guess I just got a dud that I didn't want to put money into cause I just bought it.

I got a PRS CE24 for my first PRS, in vintage sunburst. Amazing guitar. I was so impressed with it, a year later, I bought a Trampas Green PRS USA Mark Tremonti. Amazing guitar. I'll put it up against any Gibson Les Paul Custom. Gibson quality control is horrible. Even with with their high end guitars. When a person pays big money for a guitar, that guitar best be perfect, with no electronic or cosmetic issues. That's why I won't buy an SG that I have wanted for years. Not willing to take the financial risk. I payed $3500 for my Mark Tremonti. A Gibson Les Paul Custom costs near 5k. Happy that you like your PRS CE 24. They're amazing American Made Guitars, with awesome Pattern Thin Necks. The neck on my Tremonti is a little more thin, than the CE-24.
