Jeff, I nerded out and looked it up. Dragged is correct. I think it is the category of irregular verbs in which the present tense of the verb has an ‘i’ where the past tense has an ‘a’ and the past participle (following be or have) where the vowel changes to ‘u’. e.g. drink, swim, ring... drag has an ‘a’ in the present tense and therefore the past is dragged. I am not a grammatical guru, but what you said first sounded ‘correct’ and drug didn’t. 😅🤓

When the Ripmo AF first came out, I asked Ibis if they plan to do a Ripley AF. At the time they told me they will find out how the sales do on the Ripmo. They are crushing it, so am not surprised they came out with it! I always wondered why they don't put a 140 fork on it out of the box? That has always been a criticism of the Ripley on all versions of the bike. Also, how is the stability on it?

I mean in my opinion it depends on what you ride or how you intent on using the bike. If it is like a one bike do it all and you lived where there was a lot of technical stuff and jumps mojo but if you are layed back and flatter area or if you Xc race on a budget Ripley all the way.

The Ripley AF seems very capable for shorter travel...geo is king, I'd say! About going for a L size, will you still be able to fit a 200mm dropper post? Short person like me has main problem with bike sizing that affects dropper choice.
@D1PP1N2 жыл бұрын
@Jeff Kendall-Weed what pressures were you running on the stock suspension. Mainly the rear and volume spacers? I seem to be blowing through the travel at 180lbs i have 215 psi in the rear shock. Any general setup tips for Ibis bikes? My feet see to get kicked off a bit in the chatter. Im used to a 150 rear travel horst link bike but didn't think roots, washouts would do that even on a 120mm travel bike.

Nice🤩 I don’t hear logging I hear i9🐝 also I wonder if you change out the link that connects to the shock and make it smaller for a bigger shock?
@JeffKendallWeed3 жыл бұрын
Let me check- yes- but you also need to replace the front triangle and swingarm. That modification is called the "Ripmo". hahaha! Nah man, there's no way to swap out shocks on this rig. But the Ripmo is similar, only with more agro geo and more travel. 145 instead of 120. Thanks for the note!
@personthatsnamestartswitha65453 жыл бұрын
@@JeffKendallWeed well that’s not really what I meant. I actually have a ripmo af but I was wondering like Jordan boostmaster bought a different shock mount pivot thing on his patrol to change the geo and it would be funny if they made a attachment for the ripley to make it a hardcore trail bike. Idk just something I saw.

I'm thinkin hard on buying one, be my 'beater', work-out & loaner bike. - Do you think it would upgrade the ride for a non-jumper to go to the adjustable headset and add *½° - 1°* back to the Geo to make it a bit more like the handling of the *Carbon* Ripley?
@furion..3 жыл бұрын
Oh hey, thanks for the heads-up on the shorter wheelbase, since I'm usually right between Med & Lg, I'll definitely be getting a Lg
@JeffKendallWeed3 жыл бұрын
Hey man, if you are 5’8” or taller go size large. Skip the Angleset, the bike would be too steep if it were any steeper. I rode an Angleset on my carbon Ripley for quite a while and much preferred it like that. As for being a “wheels on the ground” type rider then yes, this bike would be a good fit!
@aerialheights56803 жыл бұрын
@@JeffKendallWeed Thanks, Jeff! - and I presume when you used the Angelset on your Ripley was it probably t*o slack it out* to 65° or so..?

Did you use the same suspension settings (tokens / dial clicks) as you've had in the past on similar purpose bikes? Your bottom out problem with this bike parallels what I've had on my 2021 34 and float shock.
@JeffKendallWeed3 жыл бұрын
I started with the stock set up (2 reducers up front, .6 reducer in the rear) then added a 3rd reducer up front and went to a .8 reducer in the shock. I personally feel that on a fork with less than 160mm of travel the HSC can't offer enough control to make a huge difference when it comes to bottoming 10+ times in a descent, but I was running ~6 out of 8 clicks for HSC before and after the extra reducer. I left LSC fairly firm, at 6 clicks, to attempt to keep the fork riding higher in the travel and provide a longer wheelbase. The rear shock I left in the middle position the whole time- locked out is too stiff for descending, and open is way too open for me.

Occam that I rode had a 150 fork and the DPX2 rear shock, but a little steeper geo. It would have been a better bike for rougher and/or more technical trails. The Ripley pedals just slightly better.
