Good race. Personally, not a fan of the idea for helping hands in races. Turns the whole experience into who can press WASD quicker...

I tend to agree. I have made many races now for Sailaway but if i only allow manual i tend to see more than half my racers vanish. So i am ever hopeful that people will in, take the time to learn how to sail manual and then have more manual races.

@@chrisevans8463 i have 1 more race thats left over from last year. i will then focus on the remainder of the year using more manuals races

Hi mate, Ive been playing Sailaway for sometime. I have early onset dementia and tend to forget where everything is. I have no choice to sail auto unfortunately but I have never been able to enter a race as the ones I find are all manual only. Spending 30 years on the ocean is just a memory but it would be nice to compete in some fashion. I havent even attempted a manual race as the frustration gets the better of me and it doesnt be as enjoyable in the end. Tired of just sailing solo in SA and wish i could find Auto races, not because i'm lazy but because of my health. Fair winds!!

@@Top-Jimmy I tend to run events all through the year but they are cup races. Normally 8 races in a cup. Last year all my races were Manual and auto. in the same race. This year we are currently doing a foklboat race which is full manual but once that is done there will be another cup race probably for the transat or 32ft. I will be allowing auto and manual in that race. Keep your eyes open for races I make.. the name in SA is Quasar.

@@CamG6 Work is progressing. It might seem simple but the rope and pulley systems are very tricky to work out. In SA2 its simple enough as the boats re all provided but in SA3 you dont only have the boats provided but you ca build and design your own. So having a system that makes the ropes ad pulley work accurately is a big task but its getting there.

someone told me sailaway race was the most exhilarating thing its... alright?
@quasar709 Жыл бұрын
Hmm well that depends on the boats used. Imocas over a short sprint can be. it depends on the length of the race. Long races that take weeks is more tactical and plotting to find the best winds over a long distance. Short distance races you can see the boats around you so you have a visual competitor rather than a boat 300 miles away.. Just this week I took part in a Nordic Folkboat and came 2nd. I lost the lead early on and just could not claw it back and after an hour of racing i was less than 10 seconds behind. That was pretty exhilarating for me hehe
