I picked up a 335 a few months ago and haven't picked up my Strat or Les Paul since. What's cool is I can play it unplugged at 2am without waking up the house! That's worth gold for me as I don't have interruptions that time of night. So, do you love it? I love mine to pieces!

A friggin D'Angelico???!!! Oh, now you're just showing off ya wee bugger! Ha ha ha ha. Beautiful girl (the guitar I mean). Beautiful demo & solo. I was in Texas a few weeks ago, walked into an old Guitar &Violin repair shop. There was this genuine Pre-WWII Gibson hollow body in original condition and original case on the wall for sale. The business owner/luthier realised who I was and allowed me to take it down and play it. So I played some blues (well, when in Texas with an old hollow body Gibson ...). So he liked what he heard and sat down and jammed along with me. Jamming the blues in an old shop in Texas. Doesn't get much memorable than that. The old Gibson was beautiful to play. We had a blast. Awesome. Congratulations pal, well done. You're really doing well in your business now. More Brand endorsements, more reach. You go, man! So happy for you. You look well. :-) J.

just want to say it's refreshing to see a youtuber be honest about the brand promotions and how they get free\discounted gear. you totally should get the gear for free if you're expected to pimp it on your channel & it's not your normal or vintage gear. i've seen tons of 'tubers lately with danelectro's going "this thing is great!" and they're not up front about getting paid to hawk it and most likely would've never bought it for themselves otherwise. i appreciate your integrity here.

My first semi-hollow body was a 1968 Guild Starfire IV. I gigged with it for 20+ years. They are still excellent guitars although my preference is the natural finish option because it has a maple neck.

very few guitar players past present or future play right notes with fine tone and touch and beautiful technique used to enhance the music and push the excitement yet never sacrifice the overall melodic content with silly parlor trick technique. They always use the most appropriate technique to make the Melody sing with everything down to the most subtle microtonal bends, silky slides and tasty, ballsy blues rock licks mixed in with classy diatonic runs, perfectly placed arpeggios, seamlessly weaving melodic passages with great blues phrases that really punctuate the song. Never overbearing or showing off at the expense of the musical statement. I have listened to all kinds of guitar players on KZbin and of course the all-time greats who were around awhile before KZbin and I do not hear many players save for guys like Derek Trucks, Steve Lukather, Robbed Ford, Mateus Asato, Eric Johnson John Mayer and Michael Landau, (although each totally different and I am sure I am forgetting plenty of great players) , that have all the technical ability needed to express themselves articulately without grandstanding or being self indulgent. It's like listening to a great story teller, orator or stand up comic that does not waste a word, says as much as they have to to get the message across in a manner where anyone listening (who is truly passionate and takes great pride in what they are striving to achieve in terms of self-expression in liver medium they use), thinks that is just perfect and I wouldn't change a thing or why can I not express myself so eloquently, with taste, honesty and class, or why did I not think of that. it makes the most sense and is original but even more familiar in its elegant timeless perfection. You are quickly becoming one of my favorite players and I know you don't realize how good you are because you are to busy giving and trying to be more connected to your instrument. I hope you sit back now and again and bask in the joy of your creation. because it really is so good that the balance and perfection may not showcase a few parlor tricks that some players have based their careers off of. The isms make their abilities seem more musical and expert than warranted The expert tells the best story with clean and effortlessly musical prose. Players that lack depth and have very little in the way of musical stories to share don't take the listener on a journey because they are too preoccupied with gaining approval and validation using verbosity and telling musical Lies buried in a disorganized melodic mess of disjointed verbose phrases and vocabulary that they have to try and force into the story that adds pretense and little more. These are the guys that speak way too long at wedding toasts, bore mourners at a funeral and ensure that the investor or buyer takes a pass. You are the opposite of that and a joy to be around musically if music was a guest at my party, you would always add to the evening by bringing common sense, reason, eloquence, humor and charm to the festivities. many other heroes would bring ego, self importance, show up wasted, never shut up, puke on the floor and havd to be escorted to a cab. Keep bringing class to the instrument. It's really been fun and informative watching you grow as a musician (whe00

My friend who runs a pawn shop called me and said, 'Come over here and look at this guitar'', so I went over there and he had a black D'Angelico dc, with the stair-step tailpiece. Couldn't find any scuffs, cracks or damage-the plastic was still on the pickguard! Offered him $300 and he took it, plus he thru in a hard case-not fitted, but it's a good case. LOVE this guitar!

@@MrSimunovic I've never had a hollow body or semi-hollow body guitar. I've mostly played Teles. But with the right amount of gain (not too high!), as a child if the 70s, this guitar makes the vintage rock sound I hear in my head. I should've bought a semi-hollow body years ago!

I bought my first Semi-Hollow guitar last week, just the Telecaster to go! I think everyone would love a Gibson ES-335 but I can’t justify the price. After watching a shootout on Andertons TV I went for the Ibanez AS73 OLM in a Olive Metallic finish. I’m very happy and can’t imagine anything better. Maybe I’m easily pleased, but at the same time I’m not a brand whore and know what sounds good for the price...

Besides the semi hollow being lighter, what’s the difference between a semi hollow and a solid body? This guitar is on sale right now and I’m wondering if it’s right for me. I mostly play math rock and metal. What do you think?
