Well congrats on your solo and eventually getting your PPL and IFR! Just starting out, ground school at MSAC and looking for a flight school. Appreciate your candid video & editing - love the centerline and right rudder by your CFI. I can't imagine flying with high crosswinds and love your thoughts on emotions & using TOGA.

Superior. I was googling through just looking for information on the diamond da40 as my introduction ride was in a 172. I wanted to see some real flying on it just to get myself the mental repetition before it all starts on Tuesday. Much to my positive surprise, I found this video. Your candor about the frustration with takeoff and landings really has helped me to be mentally prepared. In a world of social media where everyone puts up video of their one and only grand slam homerun and acts as if that’s the normal, your willingness to share is great

Wow, thanks for your kind words! I’m so glad that you found my video insightful. I’m about to post another flying video soon this week, stay tuned!

I found myself a bit more aware and “on top of things” during my first solo. When you have an instructor with you, as much as you pay attention to stuff and maintain your situational awareness, your guard is slightly down…you aren’t the PIC and you’re actively learning stuff. Your first solo is kind of the first time you take all of that and put it into real world practice (even though you’re still learning, as you will be for the rest of your flying days). The other thing that struck me was the “quiet” of it…you build a clearer picture of your surroundings since there’s nobody next to you talking, etc.

Great bridge between cinematography & aviation. Finally getting around to my PPL soon after a long time of wanting to, and definitely want to capture my journey in a similar way, as well in the DA40. Thanks for the great video!
