How are you able to see the grid after the colors are laid down & keep the pixel size consistent?

I’m able to easily see the grid through the layer of primer, and once I have the first coat of paint down it’s enough for me to base the rest off of

divide the canvas size by the number of pixels, and you’ll get the size of each pixel
