I’m curious why westcoast if you already have a bachelors. Why not a university and do the accelerated bsn programs?

Hello! I was looking into other accelerated BSN programs, but my undergrad GPA wasn't the hottest so those were not an option for me during my application process for nursing school. Thankfully, I had a lot of transfer credits from my first bachelors so I will only be spending approximately 2 years and change at WCU versus another 3-4 years.

I am applying for WCU, but the tuition is freaking me out even though I already searched for the information online before I applied. Before I had the financial aid appointment, I thought the school would help me apply for all the loans, but I was told that I had to do it myself, and I don't know which lender to choose. Would you share your experiences

I totally understand. Applying for financial aid was overwhelming at first. It is true that you have to apply for the loans yourself, however I was glad that my financial aid advisor guided me in the right direction. In terms of which lender to choose, I would say that it depends on everyone's financial situation, but I have heard of a lot of students going through Sallie Mae or Ascent. I'm not sure if it still exists, but when I was applying, WCU gives you a resource where you can compare different lenders and their rates to see which best fits you. These lenders were based on lenders who have given loans to the students of WCU in the past if I am not mistaken. Once I was able to find the right lender for me, I started applying and my financial aid advisor did a great job in following up with me to see how the process was going so I didn't really feel alone during the process so that helped a lot. Overall, I found the financial aid process overwhelming at first, but it definitely got less stressful as you progress through the steps. I hope that helps!

How many days a week do you have school? I start at WCU for LVN-BSN in June and I just got a full time LVN Job... I hope I can balance the two.

For me, I have school twice a week online. It honestly would depend what section you are enrolled in for the class tho. For example, there are some classes where you have to attend a live online lecture via Blackboard on a certain date and time. Alternatively, there are some classes that are completely self-paced where you just have to do assignments/quizzes on your own time as long as you meet the weekly deadlines.
