Pretty rad, what an organized line up, bit surreal :)

Hey mate great video any tips on how to complete a forward spin? I go there every week practicing but can’t seem to complete the move. Looking forward to your other videos 🤙🏽

Hey man, glad you enjoyed the video! A bit to hard to explain through a comment, so here's a couple of links to videos on how to do them - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYjRmoiimLOmnKs kzbin.info/www/bejne/h324k4Z4a7uSgLc And just keep practicing mate. Yeewww

Recently went back to urbnsurf for the second time. They only had advanced on. If you are a remotely decent boog I would only bother with the expert session. The advanced session I was on didn’t barrel at all for the first half and the second half the barrels seemed shorter and not as hollow as last time I went - for the money I paid it was pretty shit to be honest!! I feel like they have changed the setting, perhaps because they freaked out about that guy hitting his head on the bottom and taking out a lawsuit? Even in this video you can see the takeoffs are pretty cheap and the wave is 2 foot at best. I hate to sound negative but just giving some honest and current feedback

Hi there was the wave hard to paddle into and did ya get hassled by the surfers
@craigaldred3 жыл бұрын
Nice clip mate. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a surfer go good down there. If I ever get down there you reckon book advance than expert just to get the hang of it.
@PiggoVision3 жыл бұрын
Thanks legend. Yeah it's a good start just to see what it's like, I did 3 advanced sessions before I did an expert but if you can ride barrels we'll enough you could do an expert session straight away.
@craigaldred3 жыл бұрын
@@PiggoVision yeah I’ll be going straight into best mode there is.
@PiggoVision3 жыл бұрын
@@craigaldred there's isn't many expert sessions available so make sure you book a month before you go. Also the advanced session are still good, last 30mins of the session the waves barrel.

@@PiggoVision yeah won’t be heading down there for while. Might get the wife to get me some vouchers for my 40th in November when it gets warm again down there

Those barrels looked fun dude. Did you notice less buoyancy in the pool ?
@PiggoVision3 жыл бұрын
Yeah mate it is so much fun. Yeah maybe a little bit, I took all my usual gear and it worked fine, so nothing too extreme.
@UberMick3 жыл бұрын
Cool vid champ! So is the advanced sesh more a combination of the intermediate and expert? A few walls to warm up, then expert sesh style barrels for the second half? And did ya see anyone giving the expert left a crack DK backhand?
@PiggoVision3 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate. Yeah your spot on man, it's a good start for the first time there but after you've had a couple of sessions the first have of the advanced is kinda boring for a boog, pretty much just waiting for the second half to kick in. Yeah man i tried doing it a few times, it's a bit tricky, i didn't make it out of any but after watching a bit of footage i figured out what i was doing wrong, i was leaning forward and trying to crouch when i reckon ya need to try and lean back as much as possible to stay under the lip.

@@PiggoVision Sick man! I got a mate over there whose been telling me to come for a sesh or 2! Might have to get over and check it out, when the weather warms up again of course haha

What’s the verdict Dan? Knowing where you come from does it compare to a decent session on a local reef? Is it worth the outlay for a well seasoned veteran or more for the intermediate guy to get amongst some little nugs.
@PiggoVision3 жыл бұрын
I reckon it's awesome mate. It's totally different to being in the open ocean obviously, probably don't get the same rush as being in the ocean where so many different things could potentially happen while you're out there. But the froth is 100% real when ya start getting into the barrels. Definitely worth doing for anyone of any skill level at least once even if it is a little bit pricey. Im already keen as to get back down there.

What's the water temp and wind vulnerability mate ?
@PiggoVision3 жыл бұрын
Water temp changes all the time, there's no heating in the pool. Offshore in North wind, south is onshore but if its on the barrel setting it can handle it a bit because of the retaining walls around the pool.

Pretty cool.. i checked out sum wide views of the thing and i really like its shape.. it wraps and changes.. Kellys wave is a little bit too perfect. It'd be boring after a couple of barrels.. This one looks fun. Man thats expensive tho. Ya gotta be high society to do anything these days. So sick of money hungry crabs. This is how ya kill a business.. by charging as much as possible. people get over it real quick when its costs a arm and a leg. More people will ride it if its decent price.. therefore.. more money in the longrun. But.. these guys probably get their advice from suit wearing business meeting idiots...
@PiggoVision3 жыл бұрын
yeah it's actually heaps fun, i could surf it all day if i could afford it. It is a bit expensive but it also costs a lot to start it up and the continuing operating cost wouldn't be cheap either.
@mackash3 жыл бұрын
@@PiggoVision Ah its just with everything thats in now.. if people enjoy it, its deemed to be a money pot.. full to the brim with reasons and excuses to why its so expensive. Its bull crap. Im friggn sick of it. I skate 80's decks and go thru them pretty quick, i dont hang them on my wall.. i ride them.. but now that old school is 'cool' again.. rich collectors have driven the market up like crazy.. and all the companies are putting the prices up. 2017 a deck was $100. Now im lucky to get a reissue for $180.. To get a 2nd hand reissue is like $400. Some are selling for like $2000. Its ridiculous. Its plywood, glue and screen-print paint. Meant to be trashed.. ridden.. Not hung as art pieces.. Im so sick of money. It truly is the root of all evil. Go well bro.. Id LOVE to surf that place. I dont have a spare grand tho.. ha. It wont last.. They'll be out of business as soon as the fad wears off
