As someone who has built maybe 30 PCs, you did a pretty good job! I think especially the parts selection was the right one, ryzen is tremendous and the 3700 should do you well. The motherboard looks a bit weird in an ATX case which is the only bad thing. But it will still perform just fine of course! Two small points: did you enable the XMP profile for your ram in the bios? If not, you might find that it runs at 2400mhz by default, which is the JDEC standard. Secondly, you mentioned limiting the frame rate to 150fps - there is actually a benefit in latency to leaving it uncapped. It essentially means that you will be seeing fresher frames on your screen. If you plan on playing competitive FPS games I would recommend not capping the FPS.

Yeah motherboard and case are only thing's I'd do different, but works fine so far haha. I have xmp for 3600 yessir :) I was mainly limiting to keep the gpu around 80-90% instead of 100 so it's cooler and quieter. I'll play around with uncapped, thanks for the tips.

The RCAddict yeah limiting to keep the GPU cool is something I sometimes do if the game isn’t a super competitive one. Are you not happy with the case you have? I recently splurged on a fractal S2 meshify for my new case. Pretty happy with it - I prefer cases with mesh fronts for maximum airflow. I’ve seen a bunch of cases with glass fronts in front of the fans with very poor airflow which to me is like having fake air vents on cars 😛

The case is fine, just could have a bit better front intake, and be smaller to match the matx board. Not really cases fault, just a slight oversight when I picked it out.

The RCAddict well, the best thing about custom PCs is that if you don’t like something you can change it. You can change the case, just a bit of a faff for a rebuild 😀 You could also consider video editing on that PC. It would be much faster than your MacBook Pro.

nice! last pc I built was a few years ago. corsair 1200w power supply, asus maximus VIII formula motherboard, intel 6700k cpu, corsair h110i closed water cooler, gigabyte xtreme gaming 980ti, corsair dominator platinum 3200mhz. it's alright, but way outdated now. plays games fine, but I use my macbook pro for video editing.

Hope you made sure you comparability check for your system. Psus is great to futureproof and go bigger. Hope your case will fit everything g in every direction. If your gonna be streaming and gaming, get a really good CPU fan. Other than that good luck and have fun. I had a headache of a time picking out my parts by myself and building it.(first builds, lots of research and no prior knowledge about building a pc) my pc worked out well and I love it. Hope to see you playing valorant, or league of legends someday

Everything is working great so far. Under full load cpu it stabilizes around 70 so the prism cooler seems to be adequate. Just picked up Valorant and learning it now actually. Quite different from COD (which is the first and only pc game i've played) which I started playing a few months ago lol.

The PSU was probably the trickiest thing for me to find. Other than that it wasn't too bad at all since things are mostly opened back up.

Cool, Seth! Glad I checked in tonight. ;-) 👍❤ If you game...and I have been lately especially, ...World of Tanks is my latest jam. Unfortunately they're (the tanks) less modular than our RC models but with verified ok mods it can fill the customization need. Game runs very well everywhere on highest settings and looks great. Intel Core i7 7700 @ 3.60GHz 32G ram Z370-A PRO RTX 2070 (I like green team) 1T M.2 2T SSD I have a $50 mech KB blue keys (slow boat style) and cheap but awesome SteelSeries Rival 3...also dirt cheap for the performance. Not perfect at all but I can usually run whatever at full blast and I use my 46" 4k tv as a monitor (The Horror! lol) but sure enough super ok for $230 display. The key for me and what I've long been used to for 30 years is M&KB vs console controller input. Here's a pretty big part of the fiber story for $40 / month that I can't really take credit for: PING ms: 0 DOWNLOAD Mbps : 331.99 UPLOAD Mbps : 360.99

Awesome setup Mark! I agree nvidia gpus have higher end, but for 380 I couldn't beat this 5700xt. Maybe once the 3080ti comes out the 2080ti will go below 1000 and can upgrade in two years haha.

I also have a MBP Retina that I bought in 2012 but it lives in the shop now. Works well and very stable to run your YT vids on the 40" tv in the shop ($170 ROKU thing.) I use HDMI to get it there and works well enough for me at 1080.

Oh yeah if / when I upgrade or build new in the future I'll go with AMD chip and Nvidia GPU. Unless AMD comes out with a higher end gpu or intel picks up the ball ;)

I assume you mean cpu cooler? It is meant to go the other way rotated to have logo on top, however I wanted it this way for nicer cable route. It doesn’t affect anything
