Jungkook is still a part of BTS. There are 7 members in the group and 3 of them are serving in the millitary as we speak hence the break from all group activities. Each member has produced a solo work and now is Jungkook’s turn. “Standing Next To You” is the title track of his debut solo album called “Golden” and it truly is a gem. ARMY is BTS’ fandom, and we are immensely proud to witness JK’s growth from debuting with BTS in 2013 at 15 to being the global star that he is.

BTS occupies just over 50 % of the K Pop market despite there being many fine groups. They earned it by honing their talents assiduously across over a decade of hard work. While all members are exceptionally talented with their own skill sets, Jungkook from trainee days was recognized as a prodigy. He has evolved from a super talented 15-year-old into a polished global artist who can either stand alone or center the world's most popular group, a group which played multiple sold out stadium shows in places like Wembley and Sofi. So as much as this particular track pays homage to Michael Jackson, he and his fellow group members are the Michael Jordan of K Pop. P.S. Your memes were so much better than other reactors that recycle the same content.

BTS had always done solo work, right along with their group work, from the beginning. The solo work doesn't signify a fracturing of the group. Rather, they see this time while they have to take a break from group activities to do their military service as a perfect time to do more solo work. The younger members have been releasing their first solo work outside of singles they previously released, and the older members have been releasing further work. But they all constantly talk about missing one another and how they can't wait til they are together again. They also are still spending time together when not working, and sometimes they share pictures or video with us. Most recently was pictures of them together (minus those serving in the military) from what is probably a Listening Party to celebrate the release of Golden. Also a video of two of the three younger members (Jimin and V) hilariously arriving at Jungkook's door to interrupt his livestream with ARMY so they could all celebrate together. ~ BTS Members Solo Albums Listed Below ~ ~ RM (Group leader, but not the oldest, actually right in the middle in age, the rest of the members below are listed in age order) RM (Mixtape Album) Mono (Mixtape Album) Indigo (Album) ~ Jin (Oldest Member, currently serving in the military) The Astronaut (Single, he didn't have time for a full album before he had to enlist. BTS' pace of work the last 10 years has been breakneck) ~ Suga / Agust D in his solo work (Currently serving in the military) Agust D (Mixtape Album) D2 (Mixtape Album) D-Day (Album, for which he also did a sold-out world tour. His tour set the record for the highest grossing shows and largest tour & shows by a rapper in the history of the world.) ~ j-hope (currently serving in the military) Hope World (Mixtape Album) Jack in the Box (Album) (He did a headlining show at Lollapalooza in summer 2022 and broke Lolla's attendance record by more than double, with 105,000 people in attendance.) ~ Jimin Face (Album) ~ V Layover (Album) ~ Jungkook (the youngest member) Golden (Album) Every single one of them has set and broken records as soloists and had chart topping singles. Basically, their only "competition" is each other. But they are 100% a family and committed to one another. They really, really love each other as a family, and they are overjoyed for one another's success. There is no jealousy or egos between them. They have already signed another 7 year contract as a group just recently. They plan to be all back from the military and together preparing new music and a tour in 2025. They also are not courting the same markets with their music per se, as their styles are all so diverse. Jungkook is the real Pop King among them, as for the others, that is not really their lane. Others have albums that are R&B, Jazz, Neo-Soul, Dance, Rap, Hip Hop, Funk, etc. As a result, their choices on how to promote their music have all been very diverse, according to their personal style and musical audience. Jungkook deliberately courted an overseas Pop market with his particular style of promotion. He is an amazing songwritier, but chose, with this album, to use other songwriters and focus on overseas performances and stretching himself vocally. BTS also has 20 albums as a group, plus many singles, OSTs, collabs and covers. They have world tours that have sold out the biggest stadiums in the world. They have 5 Grammy nominations, have won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards, many Billboard Music Awards, and MANY, MANY other awards (about 1000 awards now.) They swept all the major awards at the MNET Asian Music Awards (MAMAs) so many times (which no one else has ever done) that they created a new category of award for them, called the Platinum Award. They have broken so many records that they are already in the Guiness World Records Hall of Fame. They have broken records set by the Beatles, Micheal Jackson, Adele, etc. You can't really compare them to other KPop. They transcend the genre, in both scope and styles. By themselves, they are bigger than the whole of the rest of the industry combined. They also break the genre rules in many ways, and they did not succeed because of the KPop industry, but rather in spite of it, as they were ostracized, blacklisted and mistreated as being misfits with a Hip Hop background and from a broke agency with no connections. Their story is an incredible underdog story which they recently put in print with their book Behind the Story (which also made them the first Korean musical group to become NYT #1 Bestselling authors also.) I recommend you look into their extensive catalog (hundreds of songs) as there really are NO BAD SONGS, and pretty much, something for everyone with their crazy diversity of talents. Plus they are famous for the incredible depth of their lyricism and messaging. They have been in control of their messaging and songwriting from day 1 as teenagers. Their producer is a visionary. And the three original members (RM, Suga & j-hope, the three rappers) are the principle songwriters and producers among the members. Suga is known as the Midas Touch in S Korea because he also produces for other people and has won awards as a producer, and everything he touches pretty much turns to gold.

Two of the most recent songs they released as a group were Yet To Come, which is literally a reassurance that their best work and times together with ARMY are yet to come, and Take Two, expressing their love for ARMY and each other as they move into the Chapter Two of their time together as a group. They have also all said over and over again that they are staying together, hopefully all their lives. They have literally done everything in their power to make it clear that they are NOT SPLITTING UP.

Also, a note about Jin. You may notice I said the older members have done solo work before, yet Jin is the only one not to have released an album. Although Jin is the eldest member, he is the youngest musically. All of them started very young pursuing careers in music and dance, and I mean a single digit elementary school age young passion for the arts, against their parents wishes in some cases. Except for Jin. He came to music later, at age 18. As a result, he has felt like he is playing catch up with the others, and has struggled with some imposter syndrome. But he is a stupendous natural vocalist and has grown into a great songwriter and dancer too. I expect he will be releasing a solo album after he gets out of the military, as he will be the first one out and have sole custody of ARMY for a while. Jin's strength is as a powerhouse balladeer, belting high notes or crooning and breathy emotional songs.

@LouThunderBomb009 Yes, everything about them is remarkable and exemplary really. I don't think they are a "once in a lifetime" group. More like "will never happen again." They have already been together years longer than the Beatles were, and without having any internal feuds nor personal scandals like the Beatles did. And the constellation of talents and personalities among them are mind blowing, not just singing, songwriting and producing, but world class dancing and performance. Several of them play musical instruments as well. Suga could have been a concert pianist if he chose, and also plays guitar. Jungkook plays drums and guitar. Jin plays piano and guitar. V plays trumpet, saxophone and a bit of violin. BTS are a family, and they call each other brothers. They all lived together since their trainee days starting in 2010-2011 until 2022. In the early years, in their first crappy, leaky, moldy, bug infested apartment, they all shared one small bedroom, with three bunk beds and a single crammed into it. They let us all follow their journey because, since they were largely locked out of their industry by corporate and socially hierarchical gatekeeping, they took to social media and started blogging and vlogging their lives. That's how they reached an international fan base right from the beginning and survived all the targeted attempts by the industry to crush them. The constant hate and attacks, including targeted online hate campaigns, many death threats and much more, drew them closer together with one another and with their fans, ARMY, who did whatever we could to defend and support them. They constantly express their gratitude to ARMY for always being there for them in the dark times and helping them get through it all. They call us their family too.

@@NanciBK I'm curious, who was the biggest Korean boy band before BTS came on the scene?
@iwubfood1 Жыл бұрын
Jungkook is called golden Maknae (youngest) by the leader of BTS since he is the youngest in BTS. He is called golden Maknae since he was 14 yrs old because in the group, he is golden for his talent to do it all like sing, dance and rap naturally well. He is also very talented in many facets outside of entertainment like athletics, painting, drawing, etc… Every 6 of 7 BTS members have successfully done a successful solo album this past year (one member didn’t do an album instead collaborated with Coldplay on the song “When I’m with You” just before being the first member of BTS to enlist in military Dec 2022). Jungkook being the latest to do solo album so far and is the biggest success worldwide but all 7 members have had some level of worldwide success so far. Okay. Quick facts. Jungkook is from BTS. BTS is family, they have been together for 10 plus years now. They have been enlisting in the military, hence the break from group activities. They have been releasing solo projects. They are all so different in their music styles and yet they come together as BTS. He is NOT the Justin Timberlake of the group in that sense. They have renewed their contracts officially to return as a group in 2025. They are all equally popular and talented. Jungkook is most into pop music and as we know pop music is more mainstream, hence he is more mainstream and also why he releases music in English. BTS has never stuck to one genre and you can see that in their solo music as well. Anyways, explore them if you like their music and you'll find out the magic they make in their studio.

JK flew to LA to do a song with Andrew Watt and while he was there, Andrew pitched this song to him. There is a making video of the recording of SEVEN with Watt. JK said in an interview, that after the recording session, he took STANDING NEXT TO YOU home and learned it and came back in the studio the next day and recorded it. I think he recorded 4 songs that week before he flew back to Korea. He has perfect pitch and you could tell in the documentary that Watt was super impressed with how fast he could record and understand what producers wanted, even though they were working with interpreters. JK is only 26, but has been the main vocalist of BTS for 10 years and is highly professional. They have three full-English songs (Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance), which are often the first choice for English-speaking reactors. However, these songs were somewhat poppier compared to their original music as they were released during the pandemic with the purpose of providing hope to people worldwide. However, I recommend you start with their Korean songs. The essence of their music lies in their Korean tracks. Songs like "On (Kinetic manifesto film)" and "Mic Drop" can be great intros. Their official music videos have English subtitles, so just turn it on. There's a reason they are considered the best in the world. Welcome to the world of BTS. They are moving into a hiatus to fulfil their military obligations until 2025. This is JKs first solo album and his goal is to be at the pinnacle of pop music. There is so much to say about these boys as undeniably the most popular male group in the world with likely the largest fanbase as well. Few have reached their level of success as a group. Just to stay with JK to start, react to Begin, Euphoria (live), My Time, Stay Alive, Dreamers (FIFA World Cup song), Seven, Seven explicit version, and 3D. And there are many more great songs that are just him. As there are for all seven members of BTS. And then all the BTS songs as a group. And then the season of BTS Run (like a game show with the members). And then… and then… 😂😂😂. And, I’ve never found a song I didn’t like, certainly ever one I hated. Have liked to love every song I’ve hear. And I’ve been listening a lot, and still haven’t heard them all. And I’m a couple years in. If you don’t hear them until you react to them, it’ll literally be ten years unless you’re putting out a video a day. And Army will find you and be here for them and you. He is a phenom! If you care to take the plunge, ALL the 7 members of BTS will blow you away, whether they are as a group or solo. I see others have left solo suggestions. May I suggest you look at some of their group efforts that are in Korean, just turn on your subtitles. They do all genres, and the solo albums are all wildly different styles. Jungkook is the youngest member (27 or 28) and BTS has been an official group since 2013, so they are very polished and know what they are doing.
@LouThunderBomb Жыл бұрын
Do you have any specific recommendations for their group videos?
@leeswhimsy Жыл бұрын
@@LouThunderBomb Their discography is immense. You literally have HUNDREDS of songs to choose from. I'll just throw some out there - Blood Sweat and Tears Am I Wrong Mic Drop (Steve Aoki version) ON Kinetic Manifesto Film Come Prima (there are 2 video versions, I recommend this one first) Idol Fire Danger I'll stop there....When you see other songs as you search for these, feel free to look at those too. There will be videos with unbelievable view counts that you'll see and go "Billions of people can't be wrong" and you'll want to check it out. You truly could pick ANY song and not be disappointed! There is a guide to the group/members you could watch that's really good - it's called The Bangtan 7 (there are 7 guys in the group). It's kinda long, but we ARMY don't mind, we'll still watch with you. Also, if you like rap, the rappers are truly amazing, and they write most of the songs for the group, whether it's rap or not. They are really master lyricists. Their solo albums/mixtapes are just amazing. The rappers are - JHope, RM, SUGA (Suga goes by the name of Agust D on his solo efforts so look his up by that). BTW, they started out as a Hip Hop group, then the CEO decided they should be an Idol group, so lots of their stuff from the beginning is very Hip Hop if you like that. You can still tell in their music the Hip Hop influences, and it's so cool. There is sooooooooo much content for you to see.....ENJOY!
@amberpearce710 Жыл бұрын
@@LouThunderBombit kind of depends, what genre you listen to? Some recommendations (songs as a group): -Black Swan -Heartbeat (it is an OST for a BTS game) -On kinetic Manifesto Film -Idol -Danger -Blood, Sweat, and Tears -Not Today -Idol -Boy in Luv -Butterfly (their are two versions the original has the rapline but the prologue version is only the vocal line) -I Need You -Dis-ease -Your Eyes Tell (live with English subtitles) -Run BTS (recommend live performance with English subtitles) (don’t get confused with their song called ‘Run’ and their variety show called ‘Run BTS) -Mic Drop -Life Goes On -Home (live with English subtitles) -Airplane pt. 2 -Just One Day -N.O -Spring Day (the song itself can be interpret however you would like. The music video itself is heavily theorized to be about a Korean tragedy that killed around 200 students…I recommend Italian ARMY explanation but it is super sad and can be hard to watch for some people)(also we call it the Queen because since it’s release in 2017 it has not left Korean music charts)

You have just discovered our golden maknae (golden youngest), the youngest member of BTS. 3 of the 7 members are now serving in the military for several months and eventually all 7 of them are expected to do so as well. So while they are not a complete group, each member is doing solo stuff. JK is the last member to release his album (although technically Jin, the oldest who enlisted first, still has to release a full album probably when he returns). All 7 have not disbanded; they plan to regroup in 2025/26 and perform once again as BTS. JK has been learning English. He says he is not yet proficient (RM, the leader of BTS, is currently the only one fluent in English) but he learns very fast and must have worked really hard to pronounce English words for his entirely English album. This, in itself, is a huge achievement coming from someone whose native language is NOT English. JK has always held MJ in great esteem and years ago, performed MJ's Black and White together with another member, Jimin. I hope you continue to explore the group and solo songs of BTS. They have broken out of what is considered "kpop" years ago as their 300+ discography covers many genres. Whatever genre might be up your alley, they probably would have a song for it. Thank you for listening to JK. May you have many more BTS surprises ahead of you. 💜

There’s so many songs that haven’t charged here and people don’t know about that I love. Zero O’Clock is another one. Butter, Permission To Dance and Dynamite were not written by them, one was by Ed Sheeran, they did add lyrics to some of them, but are VERY American/English pop and are the least BTS style BTS songs, if that makes sense. BTS is the biggest group in the world and they didn't receive exemption from military service. In 2022 they decided to take a hiatus from group activities, due to the mandatory military service, and focus on solo projects. They will be back as a group in 2025. Unlike American groups, BTS is able to do solo projects along with group projects. They truly support each other. When a member is filming a solo music video the rest of the group shows up with food and watch some of the filming. Some even do cameos in each others solo videos. They truly are a brotherhood. When you hear ARMY, that is the name of the BTS fandom. We are huge, strong and very protective of BTS!!!! BTS' road to success hasn't been easy and they had to gain fans organically because their small company couldn't afford to do big promotions like other companies. Jungkook is the last member of BTS to release a solo album. BTS have been together more than 10 years and they have always tried solo stuff but they have only started releasing their full-fledged official albums since last year. They are still together, they had to take a break for creative reasons and to explore themselves individually, but more importantly members had to serve in the South Korea Army. They cant release songs currently together because 3 of the members are serving their mandotary duty. All the members are only Koreans. And no this is not a classic boyband situation, (one direction etc) All the members have renewed their contract just recently and still consistently get together and release content. I'm sure you are thinking if Jungkook is the beyonce of the group, and he could be (as you can see in this song, which i loved by the way), but really BTS has 7 Beyonce's. There is not one star in the group, everyone would cite their teamwork as the reason to their success. All the members have unique styles though, and Jungkook has always been the one who loved the mainstream pop most since he was 15. They are heavily involved in writing and producing their albums in differing degrees. 3 rappers are the main writers in BTS songs. They really did this boyband stuff in the most respectable and healthy way, and there are lots of reasons to their success. Its a rabbit hole. In addition to jungkook's solos, Here my favourite solo recommendations for the rest of the members: V: singularity Jimin : serendipity Jin : epiphany 3 rappers: Jhope : more Rm: wildflower Agust D : daecwita (Also bts and their members has a wide variety of influence in their music, from rock to rnb to funk to ballads to hiphop... not just pop, so you might like few song more than you expected)

Thanks for your reaction! 💜🫰😊 8:26 I just found your channel so I haven't seen beyond this reaction so far, but, in case it hasn't been answered, there are some who are exempt from mandatory military service (Olympic Gold medalists, I believe are one group). I believe there were some who wanted BTS exempted because they contributed so much to the economy, but the members wanted to serve and Jin, the eldest, activated his enlistment about a year ago. J-Hope went in about March 2023. Suga (aka Agust D) is enlisted on the civilian side (?) due to a previous injury, I believe. On Nov 21st, the last four members activated their enlistments, including Jungkook. The other three are V, Jimin, and the group leader (in the middle, age wise) RM. From what I've seen, the enlistment time is around 18 months, so Jin should be out around June. He's the only one that did not release an album before enlisting, but he did release a goodbye song to ARMY called Astronaut.

I saw people recommending songs from the other members' solo albums, and I highly agree with the song choices! I highly recommending Still Life from RM's album Indigo instead though. Very upbeat and a catchy flow. Anderson Paak is also on the track! You should aboslutely check out the live performance for Standing Next to You, too! It was uploaded on their BangtanTV channel. It'll give you insight into just how incredible Jungkook's live vocals are, and why he's the "golden maknae" (youngest) with his strong vocals and multiple other talents. All of the members can sing and rap live, while dancing as well, incredibly well! Here is the video :kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnLRnmqHfZZ9bdk

A lot of KPOP groups and soloists have tattoos. South Korea frowns on tattoos and relates them to "thugs". JK has had his tattoos since 2019 starting with his right hand, then progressed to a full sleeve! They cannot show their tattoos on a lot of music and variety shows there in South Korea. He practiced really hard to get the English words pronounced correctly. RM of BTS is the only one fluent in English. JK is from BTS and is the maknae (youngest) at 26yrs old. RM is their leader. There are 7 members.. Jin, JHope, Suga, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook. Jin is the oldest. Jin and JHope are currently serving in the military. Suga is next...they will all be in by the end of this or beginning of 2024. This way they will be discharged in 2025. BTS are legends!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

All the the members of BTs just resigned with their company and will regroup in 2025 after all of them do their mandatory military service. Army is our fandom name and they have to do military service there is no exception for KPop artists.

Thank you Linda. I'm learning more about BTS everyday from the Army fans. I think by 2025 I might be one of the biggest Army members around lol
