It's nice to see you decided to give Halo Wars a go, because Halo Wars 1 & 2 are fantastic games with great stories too, and like your commitment and love to the Halo games/Universe. I have a few tips for you for Halo Wars, if i may be so bold 😌 You seemed to skip the advanced tutorial, unless you did it off screen. I recommend doing it, as it covers a few things you will find useful, even if you do it off screen. You don't need to click on an enemy for your forces to attack. I know you know this already, but when there is a lot of enemies in a particular fight and you have multiple of your units slected, you may want to consider clicking on the ground near the enemy rather than on an actual enemy, that way, your units won't all focus on 1 single enemy (the one you clicked on), but will attack different enemies at the same time, though if you wanted to attack a specific enemy vehicle or building forst, then of course it makes sense if you wanted to focus all fire on that target, but otherwise, you may just want to let them decide who to fire at. Another tip is, you don't need to keep clicking on a target for you units to continue to attack it. They will keep attacking it until they destroy it, or you tell them to attack something else. Lastly, don't forget your Spirit of Fire abilities, especially and mainly healing (which you can use to heal your bases as well as your units) and MAC blasts (MAC blasts especially useful against large enemy vehicles or buildings). Always try to build turrets on all the corners of your bases, you'll need them, trust me.. 🙂 Hope this helps, and nice to see you're enjoying it so far. The Halo Wars games are quite accessible and fun as RTS games go, and i'm sure you will get one satisfaction from doing them. If you like this one, wait until you see Halo Wars 2, it looks even nicer, in both gameplay and cutscenes 🤙 (Sorry about the long'ish message).

Remember, this takes place even before Halo: Reach. Humanity has no idea about the Halo rings or Forerunner devices yet. Halo Wars 2, once you get to it, takes place all the way after Halo 5 and right before the upcoming Halo Infinite. There are 2 main Spartan groups in the Halo Wars games. Red Team, which consists of Jerome, Alice and Douglas, who will be your main Spartans in Halo Wars 1 and 2. Jerome was one of the Spartans, along with Master Chief, Fred and Kurt that were considered natural leaders. Omega squad is the 2nd group, consisting of Leon, Robert and August. They don't get much screen time besides being usable units in a few missions, but in Halo Wars 2, they become one of the choosable squads for multiplayer and they're really cool because they use covenant weapons that they customized for themselves. Both teams make up some of the few remaining 14+ Spartan 2's still alive as of Halo: Infinite

-Sometimes There are free reactors and suply pads that you can take, with infantery in it. -Build first a solid economy. -Try all/local units then use the trigger, to command the diferente types of units at the same time. -Use doble "A" in a unit to select all the units from the same type in the screen. -With the directional pat, you go fast to diferents armies and bases.

In Halo Wars generally the items on the left of the build menus are upgrades for selections on the right. You still need to make the units on the right side of the build menu to take advantage of the upgrades. You have already upgraded resource pads, reactors and your base. Some buildings and your turrets can be upgraded too. You are doing well, can't wait to see more.

Some maps have reactors that are free standing buildings. These can be manned by your infantry or Spartans. These help you reach your tech upgrades early.

Fun fact, Halo was originally going to be an RTS game before it eventually became an FPS, so this game is the later realisation of one of their original ideas. Both games are really cool and relaxing. I had never played an RTS game just like you when I played the Halo Wars games, they were never my thing, but I loved these games. Even as someone who has beaten all the main games on Legendary I still can only play Halo Wars on Easy 😂

Nice I reccomend scouting with faster units, and use marines to capture reactors, supply pads that can be across the map. Saves supplies and space in construction. Also just incase, RPG is a research not a unit, every research is on the left, unit selects are on the right. And when training or building it can be more effective to do a secondary task while it finishes instead of waiting.

@@GamerJoobChannel To clarify, the first time those guys were augmented 33 made it through, 12 were crippled, and 30 died. But some of these 30 were resuscitated and then they underwent another augmentation which they passes. Red team that you use here are some of those who passed that second augmentation. Blue team all passed on their first go just fyi. ❤💙

When you have units selected I believe you hit the trigger button to control a specific kind of units in that section. So if you have marines spartans and scorpions selected but want only the marines to attack a type of unit you press the trigger button until they're selected. Also when you have no units selected pressing one of the trigger makes it so you can move the camera faster. You can also zoom the camera in and out with the other thumb stick. Don't forget that Spartan can bord and take over vehicles with their Y ability. Units with stars over them do more damage and have more health you should try and keep them alive max stars is 3 and I think 10 for spartans. Absolutely love halo wars 1 sadly 2 isn't as good gameplay and music wise

Hi! lore-wise, Halo Wars are some of my favorite Halo games! They are also a favorite of mine gameplay-wise. Here are a few pointers to help you out when playing both this and Halo Wars 2: - As RTS, Halo Wars 1 and 2 are relatively simple in that they work in a Rock Paper Scissors sort of system, where infantry will win against air units, air units will win against ground vehicles, and ground vehicles will win against infantry. There exist a few exceptions (like wolverines, anti-air tanks that are terrible vs infantry). Reading the descriptions on the side of the units is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the strength and weakness of all units. - To garrison marines (putting them in cover or on watch towers) is a good idea if you want to hold a position. Marines in cover will have more health, will have more range and will deal more damage. - Leader powers are very useful in general. Making it a habit in using them will make future missions a lot easier.

Heyooo, I'm back again with more info for you! So, I saw early on you were doing a lot of spamming of Y for your units to attack with (as well as X). Pressing Y will use a unit's special ability. For example, Marines will throw grenades (or rockets if you have the upgrade), and Warthogs will ram into the enemy (depending what they hit, they can take damage from it too). After using an ability, it has a cool down timer until you can use it again. This is indicated by the yellow circle that appears next to a unit when you use their ability. The Cobra unit, when you use it's special ability, it will stop and lock into the ground. The weapon will swap over from dual gauss cannons to a main gauss cannon which is bigger, slower, but does more damage. It's pretty anti-everything. Scattered around the maps can be singular supply stations or reactors, you can send marine squads to capture these to get free supplies or power. As you've seen, there are also fortified positions, they might be a wall or crashed pelican, or even a covenant sniper tower. Putting infantry units into these greatly bolsters their defences as they are taking cover. Great as a way to defend a position, or whittle down enemy units that pass by the area. Spartans have a hijack special ability, they can be used to take over enemy vehicles, just like you can in the main games. You can also use this hijack ability on your own vehicles so they commandeer it. A vehicle which is being used by a spartan will be tougher to defeat. All units can also gain veterancy (indicated by the stars above a unit) units can gain these by defeating other units (while staying alive themselves) for each star of veterancy a unit has, they get a small increase in attack and defence, and are therefore more effective units. I can't think of any more tips off the top of my head. If I think of any more I'll either post them as a reply to this post or on your next video 😀

Just FYI, You can set a waypoint from ur command center anywhere visible on the map and ur units will travel to it when they’re built if u don’t want to send them individually all the time, also the reason u can lock ur base is so that if units trickle out they can be killed more easily if they go against a group, if u lock the base ur units build and hold inside, then u can unleash them all together and overwhelm ur enemy. Hope this helps, ur doing really well so far 👍🏻 just wait till u get to Halo Wars 2 and there’s so much more u can do, if u want to get the hang of the units and how everything works then it might be worth u doing a skirmish game.

hey jade i know this is your first playthrough so I fought i'll be helpful to give you some cool tips, tip 1 in halo wars there are a lot of hidden structures in the halo wars campaign that allows you to either one rapidly increase in supply gain or will either give you a free of charge reactor, this is really helpful and saves you on resources you'll need later on in each mission. Tip 2 turrets are important even tho they cost 250 a pop there really useful in defending your base from small attacks from either faction so i highly recommend you have turrets up to keep your base from being overrun (it also helps fight off annoying banshees when you upgrade them) Tip 3 now i know this tip favours more experienced players but the importance of keeping in mind what counters what will help you understand how each unit works jade. So think about that when your using your units in battle. Tip 4 everything on the left hand side of a menu in any of the buildings you select are all upgrades that upgrade the units your training out so like, fully upgraded marines become ODST and fully upgraded Scorpions become as Grizzy tanks you had seen in the third misson in halo wars there is also another air upgrade that upgrades your Air units to a rare halo air unit that i don't want to spoil for you until you see them appear in one of the levels in the campaign I hope these tips help you out on your halo wars journey Jade

Spartan red team in halo wars 1 and 2 are Alice-130 (turret), Douglas-042 (Spnkr launcher) and the leader Jerome-092 (Spartan laser). They were apart of the Spantan candidates that were included in the wash outs. As for Spartan group omega there as 6 members 4 males and 2 females and they are also believed to be washouts but only 3 members have been named and they are Leon-011, Robert-025, and August-099, they are apart of a Spartan fast response team. The wash outs were the candidates that initially rejected the augmentation and they were placed in cryo so later (in summary) Halsey managed to heal them, retrain them and re-augmented them. John and the other active Spartans believed them to be dead or out of commission but later learned the truth about what happened to the wash outs where they we either made into Spartans or they weren't able to recover and sent to other roles in the UNSC or ONI. The coffins for the candidates who died during augmentations like what you saw during the fall of reach were in fact empty as Halsey kept their body's for research. John and the others learned this as well as the truth about the wash outs. I hope you enjoy HW and HW2, the people who made the cutscenes is a studio called Blur studios, they return in HW2 and make some beautiful cutscenes.

36:10 They're called grizzly tanks 😭 The armory allows you to have more units, build units faster and allow you to drop ODSTs in combat. Spartans can hijack enemy vehicles. Cobras can be placed as turrets when you press Y. Wolverines are good for anti air units.

DAMN Jade for a first time RTS player you picked the formula and details up quick! Did you get some hints from friends? If not that's pretty impressive. Most first time or non-RTS players struggle pretty heavily with getting used to the RTS format and therefore dislike or just skip playing the game altogether, but not you. Also BTW you nailed mission 3, the one with the civilian transports. That's one of the toughest even on easy for new players. It's brutal on the higher difficulties so great job, can't wait to watch the rest!

Before Xbox, before the release of Halo: Combat Evolved, there was a game that was originally announced for the Mac and the PC as a 3rd-person shooter. The game development time was from around 1998 to the release of Halo: Combat Evolved, originating as a Myth-style strategy game before turning into an over-the-shoulder cooperative netgame, and finally being retooled as an FPS for the Xbox. 36:25 Those are not Scorpion tanks, they are Grizzly tanks, the Grizzly is a bigger tank; it has two canons, a lot more of firepower and heavier armor, they never been in the fps games (hopely in Infinite). I think you can't create Grizzly tanks, but you can create Scorpion tanks in the base by constructing a vehicle depot, for that you need two of energy (from a reactor), I think you can upgrade the reactor just like the supply pads, but if you can't, just upgrade the base into a fortress and then put another reactor on the extra platforms.

Grizzly tanks are Forge's 'pet project' so as far as I know, only the Spirit of Fire has the schematics for their construction. While it would be cool to see them in the mainline games, I don't think it would make sense for them to exist.

Oh Halo Wars has a lot of vehicles that aren’t in the main series, like those grizzlies aka scorpions with 2 barrels. As well as things like locusts and vampires. I never really played halo wars much at all so I don’t know if they all even show up in the campaign.
