In 1977 when Stayin’ Alive came and 1979 when Too Much Heaven came out there was no auto tune. It was just raw talent and Bee Gees had tons of it. If you see their live performances you’ll see that they sometimes sounded better than their studio recordings. Unfortunately there aren’t enough live videos from them and you have to make do with their studio recordings. Just keep in mind that there was no auto tune in those days. A fantastic song to appreciate their beautiful falsettos is LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT. ❤❤❤

Bro, Brothers Gibb (and I include youngest brother Andy Gibb) were the Elitest of the Elite. They are without equal, peerless in their songwriting, lyrics, artistry in performance & of course harmonizing--thrir individual voices are all beautiful but very different from each other--the magic is the 3 voices blending to sound like ONE! None of. them can read music yet created perfect 🎵. RIP Andy, Mo, & Robin, many thanks & much love to Sir Barry Gibb❤❤❤❤

Suggestions are How Deep is your Love, Jive Talking, You should be dancing, More than a woman, Love you inside and out, Fanny be tender with my love...and that's just a few from the 70s. There's still the late 60s, 80s, 90s and 00s. They started singing together when Barry was 9 and the twins were 6. The movie was Saturday Night Fever.

The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ_MiYaebNuKiKs Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXnCm2xmm6h8oZY, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJerhoZrgstjZrM. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4Wcp4V-iLyBmM0. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXKXdHykedOHoZo. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2eVeJ93etWZqLs.

Loved hearing Millennials grooving to the 70s and 80's Yes watch Saturday Night Fever. Discos were so so much fun. We abandoned our hippy garp and it then became "dress up time " and donned our platform shoes and glitter , danced our hearts out in the Discos of the 70s and some of us found love.

You have just started down the road of THE BEEGEES. They were not JUST disco. People turned them off because of that but they all were very talented and they had songs, before and after the disco era that was in the charts. Try I started a joke with Robin as the Lead., Closer than Close with Maurice, Fanny , Too Much Heaven. I grew up listening to these beautiful voices and still they calm my soul when I listen to them. RIP Maurice and Robin.

The newer generation is finding the Bee Gees. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Bee Gees are the 2nd most successful songwriters in music history. 3rd on the Billboard Hot 100, 9 straight number 1's, had 5 songs in the top 10 simultaneously in the Spring of 1978. They are the 6th biggest-selling artists of all time. Most of their best songs were never even played on the radio.

So glad you’re finding old music! I started listening to music in the 50’s and I can tell you - the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and a lot of 80’s music - that’s the BEST music. Todays music and artists can’t hold a candle to the music of those decades! Good stuff! I’m having fun listening again as you discover for the first time! By the way, The Bee Gees provided a number of tracks for the sound track to the movie Saturday Night Fever, a big hit in the late 70’s that ushered in disco era of the 80’s.

I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This song would have been in our wedding. Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs. old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Maurice (pronounced Morris), (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) He passed away as a result of a twisted intestine, (on the 58th birthday of their sister, Lesley, who is the first born of the family.) Barry and Robin also said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. Robin (right) (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) He had the same problem with his intestines. When the doctors went in to fix it, they found cancer. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, (not pictured) had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs. younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. He lived a lifestyle involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers, Andy included, wrote all of his songs. Barry (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2023, he and his wife Linda will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.) On a sidenote, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who was 78, January 12, 2023. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. They wrote all of their own songs, and songs for other singers, which they sang after the songs were released for the other singers. Here's the amazing thing, they could not read musical notes. This meant they were also awesome musicians and just played by ear. The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! I recommend the following songs: Too Much Heaven kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIOoh2uYhq9kg6M For Whom the Bells Toll kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWa7mHSngrGFZ5Y Spirits (Having Flown) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXnCm2xmm6h8oZY Closer Than Close kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2e7epegeq1_iNU One kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYO4loCdr7R2edE You Win Again kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYu8aqKPiLidfKs Bodyguard kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKmYiap_gKimadE Emotion (written for Samantha Sang) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJDahY2gpJ6UsM0 (Destiny Child's cover has too much drama. But Barry liked it.) Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away) Andy Gibb kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3mZaWl6rt5kbNk At one time 5 of their songs were in the top 10. Another time, four of the songs that were written by them for others were in the top 5. A song that Barry wrote for Andy was #2, but then it went to #1, and the Bee Gees song became #2. They have sold more than 220 million records worldwide (I'm quite sure more by now.) Their musical inspirations are Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons; Russell Thompkins, Jr (Stylistics) William Hart, Jr (Delfonics) Brian Wilson (Beach Boys). I'm quite sure there are others, but these names are mentioned in several videos

Auto tune was only invented in 1985, so that is right. They never needed any enhancement. They sang together in the bedroom since they were little, Barry was 3 years older than the twins. They gained stardom when they didn't know how to read or write music on paper, so they kept it all in their heads. That takes a lot of imagination and memory power. Mo called Barry a hit machine, his musical instincts were spot on, still are, they wrote over 1,000 songs between them. Barry said Mo just always knew, just how high or low to sing to enhance their voices. Barry could sing the same section, 5 times in a row, timing, word and note perfect. The tech wanted to choose the better one in each section of the song, like they usually did. Barry was the writer, and it lived in his head, so there was no change, none was needed. Barry wanted to add an embellishment once, at the last minute, it lived in his head, nobody had heard it yet. They recorded it and it fit in nearly exactly the first time.

When I first heard the beginning of the song on the radio then noticed the voice changing later that I knew they were white! In 1977 I had joined the Navy after dropping out got a GED was homeported on the east coast and saw Saturday Night fever which the radio playing the soundtracks songs brought me in! Not into dancing but the Songs still prefer Rock but when its over the top that don't matter! Even had the clothes and weighed 145 pounds back then and still staying alive! Now enjoy hearing the younger people listening! Has a kid the Everly Brothers got my interest! Also had Chuck Berry and Little Richard! Buddy holly, Hank Williams and Patsy Cline!

It’s so sad all the brothers are in heaven except for Barry who’s only one left out out of the four Gibb brothers. Btw auto tunes was not invented until mid 90s and now everyone uses it and you can have the worst voice, but sound good on a record even have microphones now that can make your voice sound better than it actually is it’s crazy nobody has talent anymore they have to use gadgets to make themselves sound good where we grew up with the best music ever because it was all pure talent 100%. One person I would love for you to react to is the late great Janis Joplin she has a raspy bluesy voice that will blow you away plus she’s my all-time favorite female singer ever she died in 1970 from a drug overdose and was only 27 years old. Such a great talent gone too soon. Damn drugs. RIP Maurice, Robin and Andy Gibb RIP dear Janis

There was no auto tune in this time, you had to do it for real. You didn't get as famous as the BeeGees were without tons of talent. That's why not everyone looks like a 10, because at that time you were usually just heard on the radio and only seen in concert, so looks weren't as important. Look at some of the big stars from the 60s and 70s some of them are not very attractive people but they were still famous and had fans chasing them all the time

Please stop trying to sing you are ruining the song. The BGees also sing in a normal voice Robin on the left, Barry in the middle, Maurice on right. Barry is the oldest boy the twins are 3 years younger then last but not least is Andy. He did a few songs with the group and went out on his own

😂... Let me guess .. You thought they were black too, huh? No worries. You wouldn't be the first reactor to think that either. BeeGee's are a good rabbit hole to jump into. Enjoy! The oldest brother, Barry, is the sole surviving member of the group. Barry is the tall glass of cool water in the middle. Maurice and Robin are his fraternal twin brothers. I believe Robin passed in 2005 and Maurice in '12. They(we) lost baby brother Andy Gibb way back in 1988 from complications from Myocarditis. Basically heart failure from years of cocaine abuse. Andy was only 30 y/o. Originally, #Stayin' Alive is from the 1978(?) movie #Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. It was set back during the disco era of the seventies. The movie isn't about disco dancing tho. Its more about the coming of age for a group of friends living in NYC. John Travolta not only plays the lead role, but he also does his own dance moves in the movie. Travolta was/is a accomplished dancer, singer then. Today John is a licensed commercial airlines pilot .. occasionally.

@@iEight8 If you check out the official video of this song, you`ll see FOUR guys on stage! Its the only video with their little (Baby) brother Andy. He was 12 years younger than Barry and had a solo career, bc he was a little child when his brothers started theirs.
