I heard a lot of mixed reviews about this city but I found so many good spots and had a great time exploring the city while still taking in the deep and devastating history of this country.
Phnom Penh is a place of extremes for sure, but if you know what you want out of your trip then you will have everything you need here to make it happen. Whether it is delicious street food, amazing noodles + shopping in Central Market, immersing yourself in the culture and history of Cambodia, or having a riverside break with a lot of nightlife... Phnom Penh is the city for you.

Ah thank you that's so sweet! For Cambodia we didn't have onward tickets at the time of arrival into the airport. We weren't asked at the time but that could be a one off occurrence so I would check what the requirements are for your visa type and what the usual rules are at the point of entry you'll be heading to (land border or airport). There's always strange and confusing rules at any airport so most of the time I plan for outbound travel ahead of time even if it's a cheap one off bus ticket that I may not use etc! Cambodia was veryyyy cool and I'm very excited for you to get to experience it! Let me know how it goes when you're out there, I love sharing travel stories 😊 (p.s. the noodles were amazing it's a must visit spot for me)

Darling you might not get a Vietnamese visa on arrival at the land border! You need to apply online before you cross over!

Thanks for dropping me a comment!! It ended up being fine, we have British passports so we are exempt from needing visas before we reach the border at the moment. This might change again but it is a more recent update to visa requirements for British tourists in Vietnam!

Ahhh I really enjoyed my time in Phnom Penh! My favourite thing was probably learning about the history of the country even though it was so sad it was super important and a significant part of why/how Cambodia has progressed in the way it has since. Definitely a must visit city for culture enthusiasts!!
