My first time lure fishing Saxon Mill Fishery Warwickshire

This was my first time fishing these waters at Saxon Mill Fishery. I’d won a free 12 months Membership and the ability to gift a mate a free 12 months too. I handed that over to Liam Payne (Outlaw Pro team member). Hopefully there’s some great things to come from this fishery 👍

Thank you, spinners are a very much overlooked lure in my opinion. I have a few mates that still often fish them and spoons for the pike.

Thanks Phil, I’m sure it will. I’d probably suggest just taking a walk over there first. It’s all open to the public but private fishing. You could always see how you manage walking the pegs first, then there’s always the pub for a pit stop 👍

If you e er fish it for perch there massive ones my biggest just over 5 I live bait minnow off the main flow by the weir it’s literally 1 a Chuck . The minnies are under the willow to the left of weir

Fished it for over 30 years . Massive pike in there 20lb plus big chub roach dace and there is monster carp to over 30 in that stretch but hard to find and I’ve seen barbel brown trout and greyling but there more common by the show grown in stoneliegh . I wish that stretch was still free

I’ve yet to see the big pike but I have seen a few big carp and the “pod of barbel” I’ve heard about the grayling but not seen them and only small chub. Another local angler to there has shown me pictures of the big zander at the lower reaches of their stretch too

@@BlackCountryPiker the next weir den at pottertons bridge the zander are many below where the leam joins the Avon ur catch them at princess drive weir on the leam . Zander are rare in the Saxon mill stretch but are there in small numbers . But that’s to be expected because the run off from coombe fishery feeds the Sowe then the Avon . Can’t wait to get back on there
