!SPOILER WARNING¡ In my opinion, the worst ending in this game is the Neutral ending where you stop the genocide route during the Core, but still kill Mettaton and Asgore. At the phone call at the end, Alphys talks to you about her hatred towards you and how she wishes she had killed you from the beginning. Really shows that Genocide isn’t the worst ending compare to some of the Neutral endings.

@Sammy_The_Umbreon10 ай бұрын
Honestly, i love genuine neutral undertale playthroughs that border on no mercy. Besides a true pacifist not being achievable in your first save file anyways, and neutral being the intended first way to play, the whole point is consequences. When people in chat/comments tell you 'the correct way to play', it takes away much more from the experience.
@alessandrosilvafilho85279 ай бұрын
The thing of the "correct way to play" is just an optimal sequence to not have to repeat the game. I think people only have this urge because of how similar the pacifist is to any neutral until the true pacifist part.
@aaravgaur79 ай бұрын
Actually, it IS possible to achieve true pacifist on your first save file, you just need to return to the save point before Asgore after defeating Flowey, then, visit Alphys in the true lab. So, you CAN actually do it on your first save file too.
@Sammy_The_Umbreon9 ай бұрын
@@aaravgaur7I think there's a difference between first playthrough and 1 playthrough. While it is possible, it's like looking up a guide to this game and railroading to the highest degree from fans for a first playthrough of the game. At that point, people dont want to see the actions people take but a reaction video with extra steps. It's possible in 1 playthrough (which i didnt know so thanks) but only experienced players will choose that one
@averyhughes24788 ай бұрын
I understand a content creator not wanting to repeat content, but it was genuinely satisfying to a) see someone reacting to things like Undyne melting from Determination without seeing it coming/prior knowledge of how to cause it and b) watch him fuck up a bunch of the same things that I did on my first run lmao
@MirrorHall_Clay8 ай бұрын
@@Sammy_The_Umbreonnot really. The game is advertised as "the rpg where nobody has to die", so a lot of people on their first playthrough do stick it through to the end doing everything to not kill anyone. True Pacifist isn't really that obtuse.
@Stratelier9 ай бұрын
Undertale's trailer pitched it as "the friendly RPG where no one has to DIE." That means in the game's best ending, everybody lives! In the meantime, some fun facts! (no major spoilers) : - It is actually harder than you'd think to get killed by Toriel during her battle. - It is impossible to get killed by Papyrus; he will instead "capture you". - Undyne absolutely calls you out if you killed _specific_ monsters (e.g. any/all of the five Dogs). She does not have a reaction for _every_ monster (especially those in the Ruins), but she does have a response for having killed monsters in general. - It's technically possible to get an ending where Alphys says she should have killed you. - It's technically possible to battle Sans, but even he would say you don't want to do that. - During the battle against Asgore, his attacks will only kill you after you're reduced to 1HP. - You only get that one opportunity to actually kill Flowey.
@ultra8249 ай бұрын
There's actually a lot of clever sleight of hand going on in omega flowey fight. The fact that you can't see the number for your hp let toby get a way with a lot of trickery there. A lot of this would be pretty obvious if not for the fact that the fight is, by design, too hectic and overwhelming for you to pay close attention to the hp bar. 1: flowey's attacks do progressively less and less damage as your hp goes down. It only takes around 3 hits to go down to what looks like around a quarter health, but you can actually still take 5+ more hits without dying 2: this does _not_ apply to healing, so the closer you are to death the more powerful the healing items are 3: the soul attacks actually can't kill you at all, no matter how much you get hit. 4: i'm 90% sure that your health drops at the same rate no matter how much of it you have, which is obscured by hiding the hp number, and helps keep the difficulty about even regardless of level. there's probably more that i missed, but these tricks do an amazing job of making players within a wide skill range feel like they're just barely hanging on for most of the fight.

This was great to watch. The thing the internet spoiled most about Undertale was blind playthroughs. No one goes in blind anymore, especially KZbin gamers and streamers. And even if they do, they get the game ruined for them the minute anyone comments or posts in the chat. The backseat driving in this fanbase is insane - people are sentimental towards the characters (for good reason) so they can't stand to see anyone making bad choices. But the whole point of this game is that there ARE so many choices you can make. A player will find out soon enough whether they will regret making those choices - they don't have to be told. Thanks for taking a stab at playing Undertale blind. There really is nothing like encountering it for the first time. Your commentary was hilarious and your exponentially increasing guilt and confusion was funny too.

@@dereekarhton777 You really have to go out of your way to kill enough people for a Genocide route. You kind of have to hunt for encounters, and if you don't get every one you land on a Neutral route of some kind. Depending on who is alive, your Neutral ending differs.
@Legoswampert19010 ай бұрын
No it’s neutral because for pacifist or genocide you need to encounter all of the monsters and either spare them all or kill them all
@Ockto_10 ай бұрын
@@dereekarhton777 The pacifist and genocide routes have specific endings no other route can get. Any ending that doesn't get one of these two routes is considered a "neutral ending" even if you killed every monster you run into, if you don't kill EVERY monster in EVERY area, you won't get the true genocide route ending.
@Kjf36510 ай бұрын
@@Legoswampert190 Pacifist only requires you to not kill anyone. If you could cheat and skip right to the castle, you would get the pacifist ending. Genocide requires you to farm areas until the game tells you there are no more enemies.

I think this was easily one of the hardest hitting ending available. I’m kinda glad this is the ending you got though, it’s hard to find someone who hasn’t been spoiled the story or yelled at by insane Undertale fans. Ngl, I screamed when you NEARLY killed Papyrus and after you killed Undyne. 2 screams out of me ✔️ If you do play again, I’m excited to see your reaction to more.

Jacks reaction to Toriel was my reaction. When friends informed me it was a mistake, I considered it part of my arc to never kill again, but being informed it was hard to take back I went back and played pure pacifist. But yeah, initially I had the same response: You've been kidnapped, the only way to leave is to show Toriel I was strong enough to survive (cause she TOLD me that)

I'm in the same boat, but I still loved undertale so much. It was difficult at first not to be upset at purple. I felt a little better when he took the chance to spare Pappy Rus, though. It was weirdly fun to watch him finish the neutral run after that. especially when he figured out how much of a role Undyne plays in people's hearts.

I've never actually seen someone do a blind playthrough of undertale before, and I heard about it way before i played it so i never got the original experience but seeing the roller coaster of emotions you went through is probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing that for myself. This was super entertaining, and also shoutout to the editors you guys did great on this video!

This is actually probably a pretty ideal first route to take for Undertale. It's a game designed to subvert your expectations of a typical jrpg where you just stab what's in front of you, by making you feel the weight of what you've done. This is kind of the epitome of Undertale and what makes it so popular in the first place.

I have a feeling that you'll LOVE the true pacifist route (even tho that requires you to do lots of extra stuff and also to beat the game twice in pacifist) but has the most fulfilling and wholesome ending. It's worth it. Also, dont feel bad for looking up a guide for the true pacifist route, it's hard to figure out by yourself
