My First Time Ski Camping With A Pulk

My dog, Lego and I go ski camping to try out my new pulk. We skied a short distance in to Zimmerman Lake, near Cameron Pass, Colorado, set up the tent and enjoyed the sounds of the wilderness. The tent we used was a Hilleberg Nallo 3. Skis were Fischer Excursion 88's. Filmed in the first week of January, 2021. I was surprised that skiing with the pulk (though only lightly loaded) was quite easy. The pulk arguably made skiing downhill easier from a balance perspective, though it took a little more muscle to turn.
Apologies for the light/shadow banding early in the video. I will be using a different headlight next time!

Always wise to do a shake down/test especially for winter gear but March will be the real deal with longer days and some steep spring snow to climb! Never would have guessed you're 40, looking good.

Nice trip! Few questions: Are you running waxless skis or, did not sound like skins? What part of the country is this trip? Are those traces from skipulk.com? Don't snow camp as often as I'd like to, but started about 30+ years ago, as you know, very special, so much more quiet/magical than summer backpacking. Thanks for sharing.

These are a waxless ski, but with a kicker skin that I put over the scaled center section on steeper climbs. This is the mountains of northern Colorado near Zimmerman Lake and Cameron Pass. Indeed, winter camping and travel in general is a very special and unique experience. Thanks for watching! -Ryan
