Next time you are trying out colored pencils, it is best to sharpen them before you try because sometimes the company puts a layer of coating on the point so you don't really get a good feel for the colors

Prismas are my favorite set of pencils to use. Plus you can buy them open stock so you don't have to replace your whole set, you just buy the ones you need! I love my Polychromos pencils too, but I couldn't live without my Prismas!❤

@@LizBohon You can buy the Polychromos open stock as well! I got the set of Polychromos and I wish I had just bought the Faber Castell Albrecht Durer pencils instead because it's all the same colors as the Polychromos but the Albrecht Durer pencils are water soluble and you can use them wet or dry. So it comes down to personal preference. If you don't think you would use the water soluble ones then the Polychromos would be the best choice because they are slightly cheaper. I'd love to get the full set of Holbein pencils but they're just so expensive, even more expensive than the Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils!

Same. I've had the 72 set for more than 3 yrs now and it's good. I like how some of them if your press it harder into the paper, is brings out a bold result

@@gorile6944 I have what people in the adult coloring community like to call "full set syndrome" 😂 so I always buy the biggest set! My OCD would drive me crazy thinking about the colors that I was missing out on if I didn't buy the full set! 😆

Also, if you like to seal in your work with mod podge or a fixative spray, some colors in the Prismas will run, especially the blue colors. But my Polychromos don't do that no matter what colors I use. Only thing is, Polychromos are oil based pencils so in order to blend you need to work in light layers, while Prismas just smoosh together for easy blending. But I still love them both!

Oh wow you killed it on that brown eye!! I REALLLLLLY needed to hear this tonight!!! I have been trying everything I could think of to make due with the pencils I have on hand, and trying to do everything I could to resist buying Prismas. But I just can't get the results I want with any of the more budget friendly sets. Prismas are in a class all their own, and at this point I feel like maybe I saw this for a reason!😉🤣

Thank you!! & you definitely saw this for a reason haha! It can be so frustrating imagining a certain result but being unable to achieve that because of your supplies on hand - that’s also how I used to feel about normal markers when I was wanting the results of Copics.

As an artist I would say that prismacolour are pretty good but they are also very bad at the same time as first they are pretty expensive and they break reeeally easily I would recommend using brands such as brustro as they are a,so very good at blending and Don t break easily along with that we can get a variety of shades such as 72 on less than half the price of prismacolour 12 sbades😊

Do they brake easily like people say?

I haven’t personally had an issue with them breaking yet (I also don’t sharpen them to a super fine point, so that might help), but I feel like they do wear down quicker than I originally expected - so when I’m using a color for a good portion of a drawing, I’m sharpening it frequently.
