This is so disgusting. We never get believed. When I was 11, me and my parents went to a grocery store. There was a small toy section, so while my parents went to buy the food, I would chill in the toy section. That’s just ur parents. And women do get believed. But courts can’t throw nobody in jail without evidence. And chances are if she would’ve screamed, 1 of the other 5 ppl would’ve heard her and help her back it up. From a court level, she’s not looking too good. The best the judge can do was probation. Also there’s women who lie and we can’t be quick to trust ONLY them. Cuz men and women are different. And get treated different in society in some cases. I think this has nothing to do with values or gender. We were presented with 0 of the actual evidence from this case, and even if the judge believes her he/she cannot convict the defendant without proof beyond reasonable doubt. We have no idea what the evidence was like for this case. Personal testimony does not count as the entire burden of proof. While this can seem unfair and sometimes we wish people would just believe others when they are telling the truth, that would lead to many problems in practice.

They ask you a few simple questions like “is this your date of birth?” “Are you this age” etc basically questions they know the answers to, then they use that as a baseline to determine if you’re lying if your heart rate drastically changes. There are 2 main ways to beat them one is to try and speed up your heart rate as they ask you the entry questions so when you actually get nervous your heart rate doesn’t change too much, and 2nd is to just stay completely calm & collected the whole time.

It's very rare that a judge sentences a defendant after a not guilty verdict, but they most definitely can. It's called: Acquitted Conduct. A lot of times judges do this either because there's not enough evidence for the jury or himself to find the defendant guilty or so that the defendant doesn't have a criminal record, but does receive some type of consequence. It's a controversial subject.
