From the beginning Loki was raised being told that the Jotun were the monsters under the bed, the ‘beings’ that parents use to warn their children about if they misbehave. Not just Loki finding out that he’s adopted, but that he’s one of those very monsters that young Thor promised to ‘slay them all’, is a different kind of internal paradigm shift. You could say Loki was face with internal xenophobia of a sort. If Loki destroyed all the Jotun (like young Thor who saw that as a feat of heroism) maybe he could accept himself as an Asgardian? Maybe Odin and Friga could accept him as an Asgardian. As their son, a Prince of Asgard. Born to rule, rather than born to die on a frozen rock. It’s very interesting to do a deep dive into Loki’s characterization and motives during this movie.

So basically Odin cast Thor out and took his powers to teach his humility. When he was willing to sacrafice himself to save his new friends he proved himself worthy and thus got his powers back.

ok so basically thor said he is 1,500 years old and killed twice as many enemies as that. and there is a scene with both thor and loki at the same age for children. meaning loki must too also be 1,500 years old. so odin kept that from him for way more than just 25 years or something

I love Thor. The first three MCU movies play it really safe, doing a bunch of science fiction stuff, armored suits and radioactive monsters, stuff that is a bit more grounded. Then Thor comes out and is just like "Let's get weird! Gods are real! Interdimensional travel! Frost giants!" And it's the start of Marvel getting more creative. It doesn't fully embrace the weird until Guardians of the Galaxy, but this was still a turning point for Marvel in my opinion. Next up is Captain America: The First Avenger, which I would say is my favorite Phase One movie. Can't wait to see your reaction!

I get they needed to introduce a character that was so well loved in the comics, but the first two movies were not that great. liked Thor: Ragnarok, and Thor: Love and Thunder much more. Nah, I don't think so. Not since the last and those couple of videos on Sasuke. Probably because views started going down after the war arc and the Naruto vs. Sasuke fight was over. I think he was debating whether or not to even finish it (because Patreon people were in his ear about it not being worth it, if I remember right), but I thought since he started and was enjoying the Sasuke arc, he'd at least finish that. And maybe he did and I forgot (though I thought he was only _almost_ done and still had an episode left), but it's looking like he might not do the wedding ending thing. That's mostly just me extrapolating though. It wouldn't pull in the same views as all the other stuff and I don't know if he was planning to do Boruto.
