Rang Ghar:
Rang Ghar means the house of entertainment and this rang ghar was the royal sports-pavilion of Ahom kings. During Ahom Kingdom many sporting activities were held here and Buffalo fights was very popular. No cement was used in the construction of this pavilion, instead used the mixture of rice powder and eggs. This double storeyed oval shaped royal pavilion was built by Ahom King Pramatta Singha in AD 1744-1751. And Rang Ghar is Said to be one of the oldest surviving amphitheaters in Asia
Talatal Ghar:
Talatal ghar was one of the largest royal palace of Ahom kingdom built by King Rudra Singha. Talatal ghar is located in Rangpur and it is approximately 4 km from Sivasagar town. King Rudra Singha shifted the capital of Ahom kngdom from Garhgaon to Rangpur in AD 1702-1703 No cement was used in the construction of Talatal Ghar, instead used the mixture of rice powder and eggs. Talatal Ghar had two secret tunnels. One is about 3 kilometres in length, connected to Dikhow River, and the other is 16 kilometres long, connected to Kareng Ghar, another palace in Garhgaon, both these tunnels were used as an escape route during enemy attack.

The language was lost for the sake of integration among various tribes and communities while ruling for 600 yrs. Intermarriages between the different communities occured. Even Sonowal, Thengal, Moran, Matak, Lalungs, Chutia all the Kachari rooted communities lost their language. Those tribes who kept them isolated have their language like Misings and Deoris. The sino-tibetan, tai communities, indo aryan and dravidian : all these races have got mixed in Upper Assam.

TAANG LAAI BOI KOM. Tai people entered Soumarpeeth(Ancient name of Assam) That period there were many races of people like Sonowals. Moran Motoks. Kacharis. Deoris. Chutias, Missings in Upper Assam and all were practicing Hindusm. Tai people has many sub clans like Tai_Turung.Tai khamiang, Tai phaake and Tai Ahoms etc. Only Tai Ahom people adopted Hindusm and they ruled Assam for 600 years with good relation with other race of people like Sonowals. Deoris. Moran motoks ets. Subsequently Tai Ahom language was forbidden and Assamese language was adopted for communication. Now a days again Tai Ahom language speaking and writing teachings are given to all interested people specially Ahom people in Upper Assam and Areas like Sivasagar district. Naamti. Megenga. Sonari. Jorhat. Dibrugarh. Laluk ets ets. Also some online class is also available for learning Ahom Language now a days .

9000 thousand peoples(man, woman, child and elephants) came from Yunan province with su ka pha. They have lost language (Tai). Becoz, I think their ancestors believe in assimilation, Becoz ,in that time nobody can understand Tai ahom language. That's why they learned connecting language (Assamese) and gradually not speak their own language, Genetic exchange , Tai ahom kingdom is also one of the region. but still , they maintain their own culture and some few people's speak Tai ahom language .anyway, thank you .wish u good luck n wonderful KZbin journey

Interesting video. As a few comments may have already answered your query, do allow me to add on to the existing thread. In the most simplest way, the lack of usage of Tai Ahom language in Assam is primarily because back then Ahom population had to merge with the many other distinct communities settled in Assam. The rulers didn't enter Assam with millions of Tai Ahoms with them to start a distinct settlement within the geographical limits but rather in order to maintain brotherhood and friendly relations with the local kingdoms, inter community marriages within Assam were heavily encouraged. But again one needs to keep in mind that the Tai Ahom wasn't in reality the biggest community amidst different communities in Assam. And as you being a learned man yourself should be conscious of the fact that for any society (kingdom) to function you need a common language to put everyone at par for better governance and 'colloquial Assamese' was the lingua franca of the state (kingdom) for ages. Hence the decline in the Tai Ahom language usage + a rise in the inter community marriages whose future generations eventually ending up in speaking the language of the land i.e অসমীয়া. The Ahom rulers didn't impose the language on the existing communities like other rulers did across history, rather they assimilated with the majority lot to create a Greater Assamese society, a collection of peacefully existing people belonging to different communities both old and new. Also like Tai Ahoms many other communities in Assam have also lost their languages and have assimilated with the greater Assamese fabric. However, Tai Ahom language and culture rejuvenation processes are on in full swing across many districts whereby current generation Tai Ahom brethren are seen to be developing a keen interest in knowing the same. Other communities are following suit as well.

Not majority of population of upper ASSAM are AHOM . A large population of Indigenous tribes, the KACHARI ( sonowal, mech , bodo , thengal ) , MATAK , MORAN , CHUTIYA also resides here long before the AHOM rule. Moreover other small communites of population also can be found in present day here in UPPER ASSAM. And there are many reasons due to which these tribes , all lost their languages,, let it be AHOM , KACHARI , MATAK , MARAN , CHUTIYA. as now here only ASSAMESE is widely spoken by all the tribes all over UPPER ASSAM.

Who said 80% 90% people of upper Assam are Ahoms?? If you are talking about Su-ka-pha community then you are totally wrong. There are local tribes and Moran, Motok, Chutiya, Kaibartta, Kalitas, etc. DO NOT MISLEAD PEOPLE COZ YOU HAVE SIZEABLE FOLLOWERS, BE CAUTIOUS WHILE SAYING SOMETHING. Su-ka-pha came with few men and women crossing the patkai...but most of them later mixed with the local tribes and natives of Assam through inter-marriages. So pure Ahoms in terms of Su-ka-pha community are lesser in number. All are mixed tribes. If you are talking about Ahom in terms of people under Ahom kingdom then you must know largest extent of Ahom kingdom was till the Bijni kingdom in the west. It was its westernmost boundary. All the people under this kingdom area should be called Ahoms then. RESEARCH CORRECTLY FIRST.
