Aurélien Dunand-Pallaz (FR) came to Chamonix to race his first 100 Miles at UTMB® and gives us here an intimate race report!
The race, considered as the World Summit of Trailrunning, starts and finishes in the mountain village of Chamonix, France and passes through Italy and Switzerland. The route follows the Tour du Mont Blanc hiking path that is usually completed in 7 to 9 days by hikers. It has a distance of approximately 171 kilometers (106 mi), and a total elevation gain of around 10,040 meters (32,940 ft)
Running in his first UTMB®, Aurélien was hoping to crack the top-10. Instead, he had a breakout race and finished 2nd in 20h58mn just behind Ultra-Trail legend François d’Haene. An incredible performance! 👏
The rest of the COMPRESSPORT® team also performed immensely at the race. 2016 UTMB Champion and 46yo Ludovic Pommeret (FR) showed everyone that experience is key as he finished 4th .
And Diego Pazos (CH) and Grégoire Curmer (FR) teamed up for most of the race to finish together in 8th place!
Amazing results from all! COMPRESSPORT is so proud to support all those incredible athletes! 🙌
