I heard someone once express it aptly: Your animal companion may be a big part of your life, but you're their whole life. I'm sure he was very, very loved and knew it.

I lost my boxer Keno in dec. 2017. Sometimes, out of the blue, I still cry because I miss him. So I know from experience how you must feel. But it's better to have loved a dog, cat or whatever pet one had. Than not to have know/feel the unconditional love that they give us. Namasté.

That is SO SAD! Pets are our furry children. They actually are sometimes BETTER than our children most of the time. They are perpetually happy to see us and be with us and all they require is our attention and love. 5 years ago we lost our long hair dachshund, Frankfurter. It was one of the hardest days of my life. Took us two years to have the courage to get another dog which we did, Graycie. She’s a lovely girl! I will follow you because I love your piping and of course your mesmerizing Scottish accent. I was in Scotland to play futbol for 3 weeks and fell in love with the country and it’s people. One day I’ll make it back.

*I am so sorry for your loss; my late wife and i worked with an animal rescue group for years, and often had three to five dogs plus cats in the house. It is always so painful when one of our little furry family pass away- and the remaining ones sense our own emotion so it is really helpful to not show our sadness and tears around them, lest they begin to feel depressed by our feelings!* *Now in my last years, I have one dog left, and a number of cats, but I pray to live long enough that none are left as orphans. Will offer prayers for your little pack, and you as well. All best wishes to you and yours*

He is such a cute pup, im so sorry for your loss. You have such a cute furry family lol.. That got me right in the feels and i started crying and thinking about the day i lost my pup .. It has been 10 years since i lost her. I have her ashes on my shelf and i say good night to her every night still, as i had done when she was still with me. Having to say goodbye to her was on of the hardest things ever in my life. A few months after she passed my mom got a new pup who is now 10. Shes such a good pup and my best little bud. I enjoy every day with her and spoil the crap out of her lol . Pups are amazing animals.. Thank you for sharing this and giving me a good cry, a joyful cry not a sad one..

Hi Jane, our poodle passed last friday, he was part of our family for 18 years. So I am very aware of your sadness, both my wife and I, as well as our other dogs, we are all still feeling it. I still look for him in his favourite spots he used to sleep or sit, and get really sad when I realise once again I wont see him there again.

I am very sorry for the serious loss .... in this video you demonstrate that you are a very deep and sensitive person we humans should appreciate much more the other beings that populate our planet .... animals, plants, rivers, seas etc .... but unfortunately we humans do not even appreciate other humans ... and often not even ourselves ... however I am sure that the spirit of your dog will be alive forever in your soul ... and I wish you a Merry Christmas! :)

I lost my dog Vicky August 3rd of this year. She was a lab-chow mix almost 20 years old. They usually live to be about 10-15 years old. Grieving is the hard part. There is no right or wrong way to grieve but it is “bad” to ever suppress grief. Things get better and you move on with time - but you always remember. I had her since I was 11 and I’m 29 now. I feel better thinking about how I took good care of her and how she lived a good, LONG and happy life. She is in a better place.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a Retrever mix (mixed with what no idea maybe lab) he was a stray that just showed up as a puppy one day out in my rural area. He got SOMETHING maybe a mange or something like that & lost most of his beautiful fur. We tried & tried to get him better but at a loss we had to put him down. Wish I had a pic but got this phone after we put him to sleep. Yes he was under a vets care vet didn't even know. So.... yeah its sad when one just dies like that.

Aww...as a medical foster for a local animal rescue I can really empathize with the situation..we've had a very bad distemper outbreak this last year through the American southwest and we've been fighting it right along with the pups. we've had about 40-ish and maybe 10 have made it to adoption. And onto them knowing: My old Aussie shepherd passed of old age in the bathtub (it was the coolest place in the house that spring)..and every time her adopted daughters go in the room they stick their noses down into the drain like "mom, you down there?"
