Welcome! Don't be afraid to ask for help in grocerystores and such. We Swedes absolutely love to speak english and won't hesitate to assist anyone new to the country. Welcome to Sweden. You should really add some fetaost(salladsost) in your sallad. Tastes greate and it adds some flavour. Swedish candy is wunderful but licorice is an acquired taste but we love it here in Sweden. Good luck and have fun.

​@@ChloeMinasYT For educational purposes, feta cheese is originally Greek cheese, but very good in salads. I use iceberg lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red onion and feta cheese marinated in oil. It is available in a glass jar in the shops. Use the oil as a dressing.

Try willys, some grocerys are cheaper there, and much higher quality. Most Lidl products are from southern Europe and you cant eat the blueberrys raw due to worm(dvärgbandmask is commmon in southern eu) Stadium Outlet is a really good choice.

As you might’ve found out: We Swedes are suckers for non-Swedes experiencing Sweden :) Swedes really value personal space and not imposing on others, which can often come off as cold before you’ve befriended someone, even if many appreciate norm-bucking infectious positivity. Hopefully being in a team can really give you that social aspect and help guide you how to navigate our little country’s society!

WELCOME to Sweden and hope you enjoy yourself. Just so you know, all food is healthier in Sweden than in the USA and they don't use as much sugar or anything. Soft drinks in Sweden taste better in Sweden, as they don't use as much sugar, but many people prefer drinks with ZERO sugar in them. All soft bread in Sweden is healthy and does not contain dangerous substances like in the USA, as these are banned throughout Europe.

Welcome to Sweden! I'm an avid follower of Damallsvenskan, although I'm a Häcken fan. (Also an Arsenal Women fan, but that's beside the point.) I'm looking forward to following your journey and I hope you stay in Sweden a long while. I've been coaching women's Volleyball for the last 20 years, so let me give you some free advice: Food in Sweden is way more healthy than in USA. I don't know about Canada, but in my experience, women in general eat way too little when training hard. So, if you lose weight, it might be due to less sugar (and chemicals) in the food. You might have to eat more. Also, food in Sweden is way more healthy than outside Scandinavia, so if you shop at ICA or Coop, in general you get more food made in Sweden than if you shop at Willy's or Lidl. So, for a high-performance engine like your body, you might want to spend a little more money for better nutrition. If your team has a nutritionist or similar check with them. When it comes to coffee, don't go there. If you don't drink coffee, keep not drinking that. There's tea, hot chocolate and other stuff. Since the hot chocolate in Sweden contains way less chemicals and additives than you're used to, it's not as bad for you as you may think. Also, you might need the extra sugar to cope with hard training. You can drink most water in Sweden from the tap. Even from most lakes and fast-running streams (although it might be yucky...). You can actually drink the water from the water between the islands in Stockholm, our capitol. As you might have noticed, most Swedes are somewhat quiet and withdrawn compared to what you're used to. But, once we open up we will be very friendly and talk a lot. (I always do, which you might have guessed.) Anyway, I'll shut up now.

Not sure how this vid ended up in my recommended but I'm loving it. Brilliant stuff. Kvarg/quark is a type of fresh/cottage cheese. You can mix it half and half with Keso/cottage cheese to make it more like a rice pudding and add berries and granola and stuff. Also good for mixing in whey protein. Don't try the kebab pizza with salad and garlic sauce, it will ruin you forever and make foreign normies look at you sideways when you're like, "NO, BUT YOU DON'T GET IT!
