I hope you can figure where the big bass are during practice at the Wheeler Lake Open. Pressured fish makes the tournament very competitive.
@wheelb4973 Жыл бұрын
Buggs Island was my home lake through the 80s and 90s . It had loads of 4-6lb fish ,not any more . I said before tournament this would be good time to get 3 12lb limits and move on . There is no rhyme or reason to figuring out how to get the bigger bites . Its just random on this lake presently .
@andrewboyce7268 Жыл бұрын
Hmm that is odd. But with a lake being on the eastern coast, I'm guessing that's probably common.
@wheelb4973 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewboyce7268 not sure what happened to fishery but in 80's this lake was on fire 17lbs wouldn't be in money for one day tournaments

I believe some, if not all lakes, just go through cycles of a few good years, mediocre years, then bad ones. There are lots of natural causes, and I get sick to my stomach when I see anglers blaming it on everything from DNR to Livescope. It’s totally natural. Falling water during spawns creates poor hatches, so does muddy water. Invasives can cause it like it has on Ky Lake. I agree that FFS may put more pressure on offshore fish, but by doing that it should at the same time relieve shoreline pressure in the same amount. Lakes are living beings, they change.

It’s just a phase every fishery goes through but u can always build a pattern on any lake anytime u just have to hit it a few consecutive days in a row
