That build sounds awesome! I've taken the wheels offroad too and on some pretty rough stuff, and they are still holding up 100%!

I love my Rum Runner, it's so smooth. It's black and I built it to mimic a vintage race bike. I really love that grey with the metal flake

Awesome, Glad to hear you've experienced a Rum Runner! Super underrated. Thanks for watching!

SKS makes frame mounts for bottle cages, work great on my soma rush. Also I’m a fixie rider up in gville, it’s a great town for riding !!

Should purchased a Miche Crankset and got yourself square bb but if they work good and no complaints nice build.

Miche do look super nice! Maybe in the future. Thanks for the comment appreciate it!

This is like the exact opposite of where I live lol. I have the rear view mirror too, super handy since I mainly ride at night. If I see headlights, I give space.

Oh yea it’s just being proactive about being safe. No matter what other riders say, they’re always going to lose against a vehicle that’s thousands of pounds even if they have the right of way.

Smooth and quiet.

Oh yea! Almost too quiet at time lol. Thanks for watching!

For a 17t sprocket, you actually don't get double the skid patches with ambi skidding - at least not with a 48t chainring; you need an odd-toothed chainring

Just wanted to say I enjoy your content. Thanks for uploading. Talking about gravel bikes a cheaper option I’ve seen might be to get a 80s or 90s mtb and add drop bar as well as some other upgrades to make it a decent gravel bike

That is awesome to hear I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the content! And thanks for watching as well, appreciate it! Hopefully I find one soon I still have my eyes peeled for one.

Glad to see you back with on the bike and making videos. I just built up a Kilo WT with drops but this is making me consider going back to flats
@Ryanpeech11 ай бұрын
Where did you find a kilo WT frame?
@newoldsteel10 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! That’s awesome you got a hold of a kilo wt. luckily with these bikes it’s easy to swap back and forth depending on the ride/day.

@@Ryanpeech sorry for the late reply but it was a Facebook marketplace pickup. Shorty after I saw a frame in my size pop up too

I've been looking at those mojo fixed cranksets lately (for my pake rum runner funnily enough), how would you say they last? any noticeable gaps in quality or durability?
@newoldsteelАй бұрын
@@jasonbourne3158 it’s still going strong honestly! I almost wonder if brands like State Bicycle (their stock one on their black label v3) and the Andel brand entry level one are the same thing but this may come directly from the manufacturer? This is just speculation but for real they are mighty fine and so cheap. They are still on my Pake Rum runner on my newest video!

@@newoldsteel thank you! love the build.

Are those 28mm tires?
@newoldsteel8 ай бұрын
No they are 25mm tires. However, I know the frame can take up to 35mm, but am going to try 38 soon!
