It's modelled off an Man1400 hill climb racing truck with 1400 bhp and 5800 nm of torque. Here's the best part, Man also do a 2000 which has a displacement of 24 litres. These engines are usually found in motor boats. Hope that answers your question.

The trailer connection is called a "fifth wheel". Motor capacity is a V12 diesel rated at 1,399.05 horsepower.

I just added a MPL Carrera Decoder chip to an older Fly truck. It fit beautifully and was a very simple installation. RE: guide problems, perhaps adding a magnet close to the guide would help keep the truck flat on the track. You mentioned team transport, I'd be very excited to see Rally support trucks. Those are absolute monsters!

That thing on the back of the truck is called a fifth-wheel coupler or hitch. While I personally am not into those, it is a very cool and detailed truck.

The Fly trucks all need bigger guides and a lot of weight added up front. Get them right and they can lap as fast as a well sorted Scalex GT. Awesome to race.

I got some trucks in a lot I bought. Incredible detail. Things are really top heavy and tend to de-slot. Don't buy one - get two and race someone else - also, look for two different colors - there are some wild liveries around. If you lurk on everyone's favorite auction website, you'll see them on the cheap once in awhile.

Nice review of the MAN truck. I have 4 that have been modified to perform better than box stock - upgraded with NSR kit 9217, a Scaleauto SC-0028 motor and a SC-1603 deep guide. Those mods transforms the truck from a toy to a racing vehicle! Do an UPGRADE video of you making those changes and then posting a new time on the board!!

Nice work on the review was glad to see the dually tires in the rear I'm a non magnet racer so chassis look good for putting weights on thanks for the heads-up on the guide only thing I see missing is the scale

Those trucks are amazing. I'm not sure how they would do on my track, as I run a wood track, and I have some pretty tight corners. I also run Urethane tires on my track, which I'm not sure anyone makes for those trucks. I'd like to see you tune it and see if you can beat the best time of the out of the box cars you have tested. Keep up the great videos.

I run mine on a wood track too, it runs really well, even through our tight technical section. I added 10g of weight behind the guide blade and another 5g on the rear but I would advise upgrading to NSR front and rear alloys as well as their supergrip truck tyres, it takes it to a whole new level. I actually put an NSR King Evo 21.4k motor in one of mine and it certainly shifts. Hope this helps :)

MJK in Adelaide make good urethane tyres for Fly trucks. Just one tyre outboard on the dual rears gives plenty of grip without being tippy. We are about to start a race series for the Fly MAN trucks exclusively on the four routed wood tracks in our race group. The MAN being easiest to get with lots of liveries. Few mods, just MJKs, a Ninco wood guide, brass tube glued in to set the front axle better and some higher reduction gearing to give better motor braking and they go really well against each other.

Digital conversion should be pretty easy for SSD - but you will need to drill a hole fore the IR LED up close to the guide. I have only converted 1 FLY truck to digi, but it has a different chassis layout. For carrera, your best bet would be one of the new slot.it SP43 universal carrera chip, or the O201C1 o2/SSD/Carrera digi chip - both of which I have not tried yet, but keen to test them out - I just need some carrera digital track to play with :D Nice one!

Slot Grandprix here on KZbin have installed the digital decoder in these trucks but I’m not a fan of the finished product There is a new smaller decoder by FT that would be better suited for these trucks

F1 chip might work, shame with the front axle that it is just slopping around. I would send a car but would want it back. Maybe there are some local viewers that can get their cars back, really like that idea though. I have some scratch built cars with custom paint but lots of money thrown at them. Maybe you can feature pictures of viewer cars?
