You may have noticed my characters have different races than those of the originals. This is because Mrs Afton has NO CANON APPEARANCE. So she, in this story, is black. Her race goes straight to her children as well which is why the Afton children look how they do here.
I know everyone has different opinions on the matter of changing the canon races. You may believe whatever you'd like. that's perfectly okay if you don't like what I'm doing, just please know your opinion will not be effecting my channel/story. Thank you!

Black washing isn't a thing. Educate yourself on the history of black face, racism and representation. There's no such thing as black washing, because it's representation. There's so much history tied to these things. Someone race isn't just their race, it has heritage, traditions, and so many ancestors tied to it. However, you can't take away "representation" of white characters, because though many white people have their of cultures from the country they originate from, There's no culture tied to their race and ancestry. However, that's completely different with other races such as Asians, Natives, Indians and many more. There's a long long history of white people actively erasing this culture tied to their race. That's why whitewashing IS a thing, and blackwashing isn't.

@@cosmiccomics14 Okay, the truth is that we do not know Mrs. Aftons race. So you can make her any race you want. However we do know that Afton kids are white by the mini games and their appearances in the game. So it is not alright to change their race or skin color.

Thats how heritage works. I don't really want to get into the whole entire dumb argument again because the creator has literally explained it so much times already that it's frustrating. If you do not like you content you can literally scroll, they're not going to change their AU and that's that.

But you can't make that as an excuse for making the Afton kids black because we already know they are white. If someone took black characters and whitewashed them that wouldn't be fine so this isn't either. And I just said my opinion and what I think is right, I didn't want to start an argument, just wanted to see what other people thought about it. Also I didn't see this conversation as an argument. We were just saying our different opinions on this. So I would like to hear more of your reasons why you think this is alright. Because I really don't see why it is.

I am going to explain to you - if Mrs. Afton is *black* , that means her biological children are also going to have *black* in them, which means their skin is also going to be *darker*. That is how genes work and that is how they've always worked. And again, whitewashing and blackwashing does not work the same. Are you going to say that cosplayers should only cosplay black characters and white people only cosplay white ones? No. It doesn't work like that. And if you're going to give me the "they're British" excuse, black people can be British. Plain and simple. I just don't understand why multiple people take the time to hate on a person who's done the bare minimum. The race does not affect the Aftons as a whole in their character. Whitewashing affects the character in their **race** specifically, considering POC is an oppressed minority, which is why it is frowned down upon. Plus, it is not canon either. It is not like they're shoving it down people's throats saying "this is canon". This is what you call a *headcanon* particularly. It is not canon, but it is their own little implement. It is like saying how Michael is a homosexual, that is also a headcanon, but it is not harming anybody. Are you going to apply that he shouldn't be gay because it's "heterosexual erasure"? Just curious. I hope you can at least try to understand me in some sense and this is the end of my explanation. If you don't want to understand that is your choice and I have no particular influence on your life. That is all.
