Great stuff. love the live stream. the 2 channel 2 VFO stereo is great . Yes go threw the MIC jack on 9700 . Their is a DC voltage on audio lead so a blocking cap is needed . The IC 7300 is same way . I got a XLR input adapter with PTT that has that blocking cap. Non polar electrolytic cap. The outher adapter cable set the Heil one does not have the cap . Not hard to make up that cable. Cheers from NY !!

Well Antenna Alchemist you certainly inspire myself… when I first returned to the hobby in summer 2023 my brains exploded because I was last operating in 1996 when I became licensed… I learned LOADS off you and Mike. Your set up and PC system is really posh, eventually I’ll get a computer set up but don’t know what system to use, I’ve had a look at logger 32 because I only need something less intense ? Got to sort out my antenna/s which are simple wires… I really want a signature 9 if my station can get out, still trying to sort it all out…big job… but will always watch your channel because of your build/R&D presentations and humour… marvellous ✅ top banana 🍌.73. Would very much like to Crtl-C - Ctrl-V your setup! Frickin' awesome. The trouble you had getting everything where you wanted it is muscle memory. When you do it yourself you don't think about it: Describing it and recording means thinking about it and boom - nothing makes sense. But yeah: Decorating. Callum I am playing with the idea of a home drew antenna that would be basically 6-8 collapsing Japanese fly rods mounted on a flat plate atop a mast. Thinking I could wrap 90% of 1/4 wave around base of the rods and the remaining 10% extended out when I extend rods. Thinking 2- 1/4 wave rods for 80, 40 and say 20 meter. I wanting low loss, low stray noise using from 5-100 watts max. I’m thinking a 49:1 balun. The mounting plate would serve as a guy line mount. Would you put a choke after the balun( I know probably unneeded) or at the end of the feed line before radio. I would like this to be resonate on multiple bands or EASILY tuned with a manual tuner. Ideally this would be an easily set up and taken down rig. Your thoughts.

That's impressive for a suite of free programs. Icom tend to charge for their remote software sadly but there is some good 3rd party stuff out there too

Never used an icom so not sure, but my Yaesu FT-991 has a setting in the menu which can switch VOX so it can either be the mic or the "rear port" (aka the sound card), maybe the 9700 has something similar?

Does the N1MM platform allow for off line logging options? If I take a tablet to a POTA activation, can I upload the portable log on the tablet onto the desktop when I get home? Tnx. N7TEI.

You do not nee to be on line, no. Not sure if it works on a tablet though unless it's a Windows thingy!
