I love the fact that Rich is so tall he can ride whilst walking beside the horse. The transformation from the warm up trot to the trot at the end was really significant. Excellent teaching on how to get a horse to work through its back into the bit. Thank you for sharing this valuable information as it is the foundation that can be a struggle for all new riders and Green horses.

Good lesson! CUTE pony, and a good size for you! BEND that outside elbow--clamp it to your side and don't move it. That will help you not let go outside. Tip from someone who used to have that problem. ;-)

Learning to get your horse on the bit is hard...but once you have it, you'll always have it.

Ayla suited you perfectly Hannah! Once you've "opened her up", she will be fantastic!!! Connemaras may be stocky, but they are great athlets! Loved this video!!! ❤❤ Rich will never be "nice"...... But he sure is a good instructor!! And I think he was pleased with you and "It"!! ❤❤

I don’t normally comment but I love watching Rich giving lessons. I love that he calls the ponies/horses ‘it’ 😂. He is a great instructor as he honest and calls it as he sees it, which means you will learn quicker.

Ugh, I hate it. Makes me feel like he sees them as tools/objects rather than animals with individual personalities. I like everything else about him though!

The Rich lessons are great. Han and the Connemara mare are both improving so quickly in no time. Han mentioned before she is looking for a second horse or large pony. Maybe Rich could help her find one or preview what she finds before investing.
