I actually met Mr. Pratt tonight. I knew nothing about him so when I came home I was just googling his name and came on this video. Very cool.

It's nice that you got to meet Mr. Pratt, he is one of the greatest contributors to the American style. I have three of his books, they're all excellent.

Excellent. Great stuff. A real throw-back to the 1960's when I played with Sun.

Very nice! I played this in '75. A favorite. Let's hear it on a 12x15 gut snare TDR. The loudest drum ever. Good chops never go away. Right? Master the rudiments, and you'll own the drums. bc

Awesome Ed ..... amazing hands. I can appreciate the amount of time and practice you've spent getting them to sound that great. Wow. I love how you are able to get such an effortless whip with your left hand. Awesome

Is this at the tempo listed in the book? If not, what tempo is it?
@TheDrumslinger8 жыл бұрын
The tempo indicated is 110 bpm. I think I played this at 112. The story I read was that Pratt initially posted no particular tempo, leaving it up to the individual soloist. However, the publisher asked him to assign tempos.

Is there any way to get this sheet music for free?
@TheDrumslinger7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if it is available for free. I suppose you could search for it as a pdf? The book is not expensive and contains a lot of other really nice beats.

What drum pad is that?
@TheDrumslinger7 жыл бұрын
I've had that pad for a long time, the logo badge popped out and I lost it. But I think it was an "HQ" from Vic Firth. They now call them, "Real Feel." But no practice pad feels like a real drum to me.

Is he from a pope band?
@TheDrumslinger8 жыл бұрын
+Yue Chuen Ong: I think you meant "pipe band?" The answer is no, Pratt was with the US Army Hellcats, American style.
