대현 personality affects the way we perceive people you know. preference is also a part, but in my experience of dealing with people who just became army, they'd tell me jhope wasn't as handsome as many others they'd known, but his quirkiness and persona while dancing made him far more attractive. after involving themselves into bts, their initial reaction seemed to be completely erased. there was a scientific study where a woman from england was said to be the most beautiful in the world. she was extremely beautiful, but no one agreed with the statement the she was the most beautiful. the reasons where that she was a typical fair, blonde, petite woman or that her features weren't "sharp and unique" etc etc. so you're right, preference is different. but preference can change. don't get me wrong, but if a person were to ask you to choose the most handsome out of this guy, jhope and eunkwang seeing them for the first time, being completely honest, who would you choose? if you choose jhope from the start, your preference seems to be among a smaller group of people who like "unique" or different features. i think our preference depends on what we'd like to look at all the time. sharp turns heads, but a decent balance in all facial areas maybe the common or standard version of beauty. among most of the army here, who know and love jhope, this seems to the popular opinion here. but I feel if it were an option given to a lot people who know and don't know kpop, this man may win.
